  1. That's what soccer moms drive. Time for something a little sportier! You are overlooking a big benefit of wagon style cars...habada...habada...habada. I hope you at least have tinted glass, Tarheel. I kinda figured being a wagon the back seats fold town. Only thing better on wheels is canopy with mattress or camper/motor home.

    It's Here!

Maybe I'm being selfish, but I'm glad I no longer work in a hospital. Thinking getting a couple truck loads of grub and toilet paper in before it makes its way here. Enough for a couple months at least. Service the firearms and inventory the ammo. If it does get here I'm staying home and not taking visits from anyone. They can call or email. That includes everyone from ambulance to police. May seem harsh, but those in my house are in our care. If it does not make it here and we get control of it we can still eat the food, or save it for nest emergency. Best wishes for all that have it. And sincere hopes that we get this under control asap.

    Car speakers

Gentleman I know just got another Jeep, He said 2 of the speakers were Klipsch and he does not know what the other speakers are. His question being what is a good brand or brands of car speakers. Seems to me he has it half right with the klipsch speakers, (I did not know Klipsch made speakers for autos). I really did not know where to post this, so into the Lounge it is. john
  7. I kinda liked the 2st one the best. Ex coworker taped a picture to her locker. Under the tape has held up well. the small part that was not covered just faded away. What I really like about these is their made in USA
  8. Why yes he is I Thought he swore off any more speakers and related items. Of course if he's a lawyer I'd bet he could find a loop hole
  9. Spend too much time on here to devote much time to other forums. So I keep a book that has some of the forums that I've visited and made a post or something that requires password and other info.
  10. i will check that out after work...read something once that he or Plant was mad because of the criticism about the song having to do with the devil. He said the song has nothing to do with evil. saw a tv show one time where some guy was playing tapes backwards...he played Stairway, stuff was there; but, was i duped by the show, was the band duped by an engineer. i've no idea. whilst not backwards masking, i recall Brian May of Queen asking the engineer for a tape of one of the songs backwards (Tie Your Mother Down possibly) he said, "I'll go home and learn it backwards." Of course, when he played it, it was him playing the chords in reverse order not some clever engineering trick. I don't care what anyone says. If you don't like that song you seem suspiciously evil to me.
  11. That's where they got the saying, "thinking with you pecker" ! I sure wish that was where the saying came from. I lost a good girl for letting my pecker think for me. Still not over it.
  12. What is loud can vary a lot from person to person. What I consider loud would and has had one of the cats upstairs down on her belly crawling from room to room trying to get away from the sound. I was using a marantz 2325 with the volume straight up 12:00 position. No idea what the wattage the amp was putting out at that time. I run Khorns in that room and can get complaints with a 30 watt tube amp without going to the 1200 position on the volume. That is certainly worth looking at. john
  13. I set the copy machine for 200 copies at work and let it run. Shortly after I heard a pecking sound from the printer and thought DAMN. I messed up the copy machine and went to look. Printer was printing away and everything looked good. But still had that strange noise. Looked out the window and a woodpecker was pecking on the building. Granddad was a timber faller in the Redwoods. One year he brought a sizable piece of bark that was full of acorns. He said woodpeckers make the holes, then put acorns in it to draw bugs. When the bugs get into the acorn, the woodpeckers eat the bugs and put more acorns in.
  14. Not necessarily the amount of watts. I almost always use less then 30 watts. The thing is good clean signal. In my opinion the signal is much more important then the power. I'm not familiar with Boston speakers. http://www.retrevo.com/samples/Boston-Acoustics-Speaker.html seems to have a poor opinion in my view. Maybe someone here can give better info
  15. Funny, given that the thread was started by you and titled “Thread CRAPPING Honey Pot,” I do hope that you realize that my diatribe was just me poking some fun and spoofing work place harassment somewhat by just inserted your comment into the typical definition. I then strung a few random ideas together to see if anyone would bite. Taz (John) usually does when he meanders along and usually drags the thread in a different direction. In the words of Foghorn Leghorn, “It’s a joke son.” http://youtu.be/KTwnwbG9YLE Yea I do have tendency to stray from the topic. But someone will usually come along and set Thread straight if they feel it's needed. I figured with a topic like this thread most anything goes. Except for pictures of painted ladies that I got in trouble for. I mean they covered any sensitive body parts with Paint so I felt I had seen more skin in women wearing bikinis. I think some that some thought they saw more then they really did. But now I will be careful and send any questionable Pictures to Carl for moderator approval And hope he does not steer me wrong. If you can make someone smile. Just one person, your day has been a success. If you can feed someone that is truly hungry you have been a success. I keep a plastic bag for soda cans in my car. At one of the rest areas I usually stop at, there is often a man looking for handouts. He takes my bag of cans and whatever else that is in the bag and is thankful for it. Look a stranger straight in the eye and smile. He or she may smile back at you. This helps them and you to feel better. So I have probably wandered off topic again. I used to work with a Lady on a Psych unit that was about 80 years old. She has been sober for at least 30 years. She has said she is just one drink away from doing it all over again. Refused to drink to toast the Bride and Groom, stating NO I can't. This lady does not need to work. Drives a Cadillac, and is a very generous person. The patients Love her and would stick up for her in a heart beat if needed. And so does the staff.
  16. If enough people were to put the pressure to them, maybe next contract time there would be a change. Yah I know, I'm just farting in the wind,
  17. Maybe if he was to stomp the $h!++ out of them before wearing them. Another thought would be to contact the NFL and give your own opinion. Let then know that you plan to Call the other advertisers and tell them not only are you going to boycott their products that air on the NFL, but your going to ask your friends, Family, coworkers, and maybe even customers. Tell them the only way you will change your mind is if they give him the money back, and not require anyone to use Blows equipment. After all the only thing these companies care about is the Dollar!
  18. One day we want to make the trip, North West up to the coast and then down the West coast, taking in everyplace like your saying along the whole trip. Would like to go up to British Colombia also, it would be a great way to spend at least a few weeks or more, no rush and stopping wherever we want. People talk about flying out of country as there first choice but for me this would be my first choice, no rush and going in a general direction and to whatever we find along the way. One day hopefully. British Columbia is a beautiful place. Cannot comment on Washington as it was dark when we passed through most of it. Do remember stopping along the coast that was quiet enjoyable. I like traveling with my son. We can just go with the wind. Usually a first destination but after that who knows. One time he said Winnemucca was only 300 and some miles, did I want to go? I had to turn that one down. But being in no rush to get anywhere is good and relaxing,
  19. Looks like they would be best put to use playing the BLUES
  20. A person should make the coast from Eureka Calf which would get you into some of the Redwoods. One tourist trap has a very large Paul Bunion out front. I believe it is called Trees of Mystery. But if you are in the area there are other places that are not tourist traps where you can see the redwoods. Grand Dad was a timber faller when they still used hand saws. Yep, if I had the chance to make the trip, I would look up things like Redwood National and State Parks - Official Site . Redwood Drive Through Trees Along Highway 101 - Image Results . By the time you get to Oregon you will be leaving most of the Redwoods in just a few miles. Oregon coast is nice, but you live on the coast I believe. There are some nice places though. Such as the Sea Lion Cave. Ride the elevator down to see the ones laying on the rock island in the huge cave. Take notice that Sea Lion Scat smells as bad as any. Lot of listings for "Oregon Redwood" but I believe California has the best, certainty the most.
  21. Don't forget to tip. I think that's illegal except in Vegas ? On a trip in Nevada we seen lots of pink trailer houses out in the middle of nowhere. Appeared to be business as usual. One of the pink trailers had a power line running to it. Also had a twin engine aircraft upside down between the house and the road. We figured some pilot was buzzing the place and did not see the power line. Laughed some more and speculated that the plane was left as advertizing. Anyone know a pilot that might have buzzed a ***** house or two? Just asking.
  22. You know, it's not watermelon seeds that cause them. If you don't figure it out quick, you can expect to see more around the house.
  23. Great post, but your Avatar makes me a little nervous. How about a Khorn photo instead? I placed my avatar as knee jerk reflection to a jerk who could not agree with most of the people on a thread. If it helps you to feel better, I have never pointed a gun at anyone. Nor have I threatened anyone with a firearm. The avatar is actually a collectors item. I collected firearms before I started collecting stereo equip. No need to be nervous about my avatar. I'm not the violent type. When I went to Psych unit it was voluntary. I made the 75 mile drive on my own decision. It was a wise choice
  24. In my limited experience with using routers. My problems come when get in a hurry and try to remove too much material to fast. Go slow, keep your cuts shallow, and try to lay the speaker so the router is sitting on top of the speaker with each cut. I prefer to cut so the cut enters the wood from the outside and turns to the rear. If you cut from the inside of the edge it is more difficult to get a good finished cut. The wood is more likely to break out at the edge, This causes operator frustration and should be avoided as much as possible.
