  1. Cuanto dinero? How many greenbacks? For either. Just curious. Hey minermark are you seeing this thread, for your 4 way stacks?
  2. Dang wires! And component leads! Ya mean ya gotta hook up everything correctly? Dang!
  3. FYI Monoprice is offering their pro audio cables at 20% off through Sept 7th. Time to stock up boys and girls. Well... if you need such things. No affiliation...... yada, yada, yada
  4. who me? i just like to provide answers or ask questions. My boss asked me if I knew where a piece of equipment was. I said, “I give up…where?” Or when the doctor asked me if i smoked. I said, “only when i’m on fire.” he laughed throughout the entire examination. When i was leaving he laughs again and says, “only when i’m on fire.” I finally said, “doc, it wasn’t that funny.” And like Richard Pryor said "when you're on fire people get the &*%$ out of your way"
  5. If you drew us a schematic of what should be and what you did would it be obvious?
  6. Now Scrappy could plank that! Cool idea, great job.
  7. Dave, Ok I get it, I think. You want to capture that 'live' feeling in your recordings. Totally cool, but hard to do.
  8. Yes we await with bated breath. Being in the electronics industry, manufacturing, test and design for 35+ years I know anything can and will go wrong.
  9. 'Tis blasphemy but what about some homebrew BFM cabinets? And Dave could you have taken a direct out from the piano?
  10. In my book this is a positive--you can get your REAL work done. Most meetings are for people who don't have real jobs.
  11. In my best Elvis voice "Thank you very much"
  12. minermark, I will state the obvious. To go 4 way active in stereo you're going to need a 2 in 8 out crossover(minimum) and a total of 8 channels of amplification. A hybrid active/passive setup could of course use less.
  13. FWIW Monoprice makes a splitter you just add to your existing cable $2.75 http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=102&cp_id=10236&cs_id=1023603&p_id=6261&seq=1&format=2
  14. Meanwhile out in crazy California........ I had a taco and beer with an old friend on Wednesday afternoon. He talked about and showed me pictures of his daughter and her 5 soon to be 6 kids. He said when they're out together someone will say something like "are all those yours?". And she of course says "Yes" And then they say something like "your destroying the earth" What a bunch of nutjobs.
  15. Happy Friday to all us worker bees, OK retirees too. Sancho, Prayers going out for Jackson, much too young to have these types of medical issues. And Carl, I never knew your daughter had these complications. God Bless you and your family. You should feel proud and blessed. Eric
  16. Wow I don't get this at all. I replaced most of my in ceiling flood lamps(can lights) with leds also. They are almost cool to the touch. I can remove an 8 watt (65 watt replacement)one while it is on. Try that with a 65 watt incandescent bulb. Sorry for the hijack...... back to the subject.
  17. When I joined this forum a little over 4 years ago I had no HT, no TV. 2 channel system had stock KHorns and Lascalas. Now in family room HT I have RF7-II mains,RC64 II center, CDT500 II side and rear surrounds and 2 RSW-15 subs. In the 2 channel its the same but both KHorns and Lascalas have been modified. New Fastlane tractix squawker horns, new tweeters, new ALK ES crossovers. And like Thaddeus said this is just the speakers.
  18. I would appreciate that. These subs are already 10 plus or minus years old. And I bought them used. So some day they will need repair. The manual is still on the Klipsch website, but schematics no.
  19. Youthman, That's great news. So the RCA in and out are just in parallel so you can daisy chain to another sub. Where was Adam going to get a schematic? I would like to know cuz I've got 2 of these now.
  20. Honestly, that is beyond my area of understanding. Adam is on his way over now to take a look at it. He says it looks like the control module was worked on before due to the brownish color underneath the board (forgot what he called it). It's all good. Sounds like you have the right guy coming to look at it. Was the word "flux"? It is not uncommon on consumer stuff that the flux doesn't get cleaned off right from the factory.
  21. Yea but what about the solder joints on the bottom of the PCB under the black case. I would think that is where they're connected. How do they look? Any cracks?
  22. So is the OP saying he did talk with Roy and Roy said cross'em at 800Hz? I'm cornfuzed.
  23. I don't know how Klipsch did these RCA jacks, but they could be soldered right to a PCB. If so could just be a cracked solder joint on the PCB itself from putting a cable off and on too many times. Too much mechanical stress, if that makes sense.
