  1. I know you are not getting very many responses here but I would also be curious of people’s opinions. I have all the Ultra speakers you listed, with a couple more surrounds and minus the subs. I obviously know what the Ultras sounds like but I have never owned RF-7’s, so I am of no help. If you were located around the Seattle area, I would be more than happy to load up the 3 KL-650’s and bring them to your place, for a little A/B testing session.. Slim odds I know, but by throwing it out there, someone might live closer and be willing to do the same thing;)
  2. Sounds like you need to do the “sub-crawl” Placement of the towers is also very important but I would start with optimizing the sub first.
  3. The new Cherokee looks much better! My boss doesn’t care about cars much and he just bought a new 2018 Cherokee, the old body style, last week. He loves it and he can buy just about any car in production. Having a warranty is definitely worth something, so is the new car smell:)
  4. How about a 2015 - 2016 VW Tiguan? https://seattle.craigslist.org/est/ctd/d/2016-volkswagen-tiguan-4motion/6772695609.html Or, if you don’t need the height of an SUV, how about something “cool” like a used Golf R or Subaru WRX STI Hatch? I believe they can both can tow around 1,000 lbs, if you can believe it.
  5. I just wanted to update everyone on this, in case anyone was interested. I had to head out of town for a couple days, after creating this thread and so just now remembered it. We ended up unplugging everything, while we were gone, and when I plugged everything back in, everything is normal. This sounds very strange to me but I am very happy. Now that I am scrutinizing everything, I do hear a slight hiss when I put my ear right up to the horn but it is so slight, the hiss might have have been there before. Probably to be expected, for an amp in this power range and the Ultra’s sensitivity. Unless one or some of you feel differently, of course. Pretty happy though!
  6. You are asking all the right questions, you’ll find the right one. Don’t worry, I tend to over think things also😬
  7. I’ve own quite a few multi-channel amplifiers over the years and I would be all over Monolith, if my B&K 200.7 S2 wasn’t glowing back at me. I also liked the multiple Emotiva, Parasound and Outlaw Audio amplifiers I used to own. The B&K gets the nod but there wasn’t a major difference between any of them. Probably couldn’t even tell unless you A/B tested them. When the B&K goes, and I move, Monolith would be my next addition. You might be over thinking this some but that isn’t intended to be insulting, more an observation from someone who has walked the path you are walking.
  8. Great deals right there!

    What I Got Today!

Actually, a brake in the action is probably a good idea.
  10. I had the ML 60XT and if you were happy with the sound levels the Denon 4100 produced, in a similarly sized room, I would start with a high quality receiver and add an amp down the road if you feel the need. This is a highly debated topic though. Many here say adding an amp made a “night and day difference” and some say “ couldn’t hear a difference so I returned the amp”. You will need to be your own judge. Many people have nothing but good things to say about buying refurbished receivers, since it is nearly impossible to keep up with the latest and greatest technology. The links below are to company I have bought some rather high end, refurbished, receivers from with zero issues. Here are are a few that stick out to me but you should go through the features and see which one would meet your budget and needs the best: https://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/denavrx4400h/denon-avr-x4400h-9.2-ch-x-125-watts-networking-a/v-receiver-w/heos/1.html https://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/pionsclx801/pioneer-elite-sc-lx801-9.2-ch-x-140-watts-networking-a/v-receiver/1.html https://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/marsr7012/marantz-sr7012-9.2-ch-x-125-watts-networking-a/v-receiver-w/heos/1.html I would probably buy a 3 or 5 channel amplifier, to the augment the receiver, if you are planning on running 7 + speakers. The actual power these modern put out, starts to decline when you they are driving more than 2 speakers. If the new receiver says 140w/channel, it is probably putting out something like 50w/channel, when it’s driving 5 + speakers. Luckily, Klipsch speakers are pretty sensitive so that is why I recommend you trying a receiver first, and adding a power amp, if you feel you are lacking. To be honest, I would probably sell those PB-2000 subwoofers and use the sale proceeds and the amplifier budget and get yourself a couple big hitting subs, like the Monolith 15. I owned dual SB-2000’s at one point in time but my single Rythmik FV15HP easily out-paced them. For demanding movie soundtracks, it would probably take 2 + PB-2000’s to equal the output of a single Monolith 15. It would be worth trying the PB-2000 in the room first and if they make you smile, keep them. The PB-2000 is a wonderful sub in smaller rooms and really shines with music but I felt them lacking with the really deep stuff. Center channel and subwoofers are the most important speakers to invest in.
  11. And the complaints of Klipsch products, with internal amplification/electronics, keep pouring in...
  12. Can you fit another RP-8000 in the middle spot? That would be ideal but most don’t have the room/rack space to use a tower as a center.
  13. I had the HPA 3 and I can tell you, it was the beefiest amp I have ever owned. I even have a scar or my forearm, from where I tried to lift the 85 lb. monster into position by myself.. GLWS!
  14. They should sell a ton of these amps. Pretty awesome deal for 7 channels of real amplification with XLR inputs under $1K.
  15. The amp connects to the pre-outs on your receiver, via RCA’s. Eazy peazy! if I were in your shoes, I’d just get a 5 or 7 channel amp and let that nice receiver drive the other speakers.
  16. In most cases, yes but definitely not fact. My single Rythmik easily out paced my dual SB-2000’s.
  17. He is quite high on those and the new Elac bookshelf speakers. I loved my 160M’s so I am sure these new ones are even better.
  18. Condo = You will be fine with any of those receivers. I’d get the Denon for the room correction software though.

    What I Got Today!

These are my first two pieces. Had never even seen any face to face until this morning, when I opened them up. They are much more impressive in person, that’s for sure! Looks like I found another hole to throw my money into..
