  1. Oh... I'm in Chattanooga, but have no money. Too bad ... I sold the ones I had, same vintage. Miss them terribly.
  2. Here's your file... the forum won't display HEIC format pics.
  3. The last two LPs I listened to were Karla Bonoff and Norman Blake.
  4. He might be serious about TS, ya know.
  5. It was just a thought. I haven't touch a Mac since 2016. I was looking up the specs, and it looks like a no on that idea. Might try a DAC, or other piece to go between.
  6. Do the iMac models still have the optical out on the aux/headphone out? Does the THX system have an optical input?

    Jokes?

I understand that, as well as McCartney's story about the meaning of the song. I think it's great, but like a lot of other music from that genre, it's simply great music.

    Jokes?

I can't figure out how the Beatles "Blackbird" got on there. It's excellent, but I wouldn't consider it a country song.
  9. When we updated our kitchen (removed carpet and dark built in cabinets and electric stove), we added a dishwasher. We've never used it. We both will wash and dry, but they are almost always done before we leave the kitchen. The largest employer in our county is the Roper Corp., now wholly owned by GE. But hey are owned by Haier, a Chinese company. A friend of mine has worked there his whole life, getting ready to retire. He said the new stoves and appliances they make are the cheapest he has ever seen. They are built here and shipped to China and they make money on them. His complaining may be sour grapes, but there could be some truth to what he says.
  10. HIIs are great speakers. We'll balanced, and they can rock when appropriate.
  11. I've noticed, over the years, that a lot of folk migrate back to a pair of LS. They're big, but not too big, with a great presentation, whether tweaked or not.
  12. He certainly didn't get his energy from me.
  13. My Heresy IIs, even after a recent recap, have plenty of bass, very well balanced. Then again, I was ok with my LS. I don't do home theater, so only music. Different genres, but I certainly won't be modding them in any way. The H IVs have better bass, though but I'm still not fond of rear ports, but that's just me.

    Sold

Those would be right at home on my Snails, but I will have to start with something a little smaller. Very nice looking set.
  15. My wife's younger son in the Philippines got a Chow (crazy enough with the heat), and one of the grandsons is only nine. He can love on the dog, use him as a pillow, etc., and the dog just loves it. When we visited last July, my wife just started to reach out to pet him and he jumped at her and scratched the skin while biting her knee. Since there are so many strays in the Phils, right around the corner from the house is a "Dog Bite Clinic". She got a couple shots, a couple weeks apart. I had told her that Chows weren't very safe to have around, but they had already had him a while. I kept trying to pet him, just by letting him rub against my leg when he would walk by. The day before we left. he was letting me pet him. I'll probably have to start over when we go thee for Christmas this year.
  16. One of the ladies at work took this pic of her dogs. The sign is kinda nice.
  17. No, it was the Curcio board. It was ok, but I wanted to try the Tubes4HiFi board, even if the layout isn't the best. I had also replaced the power tranny, as I thought the original got pretty hot, but that may just be TVA's power grid running at 125V. I do still have one of the large adjustable theater variacs that I could use to bring the voltage down a little, but it's a bit ugly. Not that anyone would notice in the listening room. It has that studio/lounge/garage look, especially now.
  18. I'm guessing you don't like Dire Straits? I'm not sure how level matched these are, but the Heresy IVs sound very balanced. The LS sound a little weak in the bass, but I could tweak the to where I could be happy. Cornwalls still sound boomy to me, that could be the room, setup. The Forte IVs sound great, and the Heritage Jubilees massive, but very balanced.. Still, I'm listening on headphones, so who knows. I happen to like DS, but might have picked a different song.
  19. I had a Panasonic under dash 8 track. Carried some Firesign Theater tapes in my car.
  20. Yes I do, but it's in pieces. I had replaced the 7199 driver board a long time ago and got a different one to replace it. I need three 9 pin sockets and forget to order them.
  21. C.F. Martin is following Klipsch with a U-Turn Orbit turntable. $1199.
  22. I was ok with the bass from my LA Scalas. However, I did use a crossover that allowed me to the midrange a few dB. They sounded way more balanced that way. And turning them up to get more midrange also helps the bass fill in a bit more.
  23. That would surely get a more even look that could then be refinished.
