One of the doctors at the facility where my wife and I work has a desk made from a wing section from a Beechcraft Bonanza. He's a bit eccentric, and his office is full of all kinds of crazy stuff. The only reason his desk is empty here is that everything was removed while he was on a cruise so they could put new flooring in.

Welcome, Rob! The best speaker I had owned were a pair of JBL studio monitors, about the same size as the Heresy models. I still have them, but in the early 2000s, my older son came home from school with a pair of Heresy IIs for my birthday. They were a used set... the JBLs moved to living room duty. The HIIs are still here, currently my main speakers. I have had other Klipsch along the way (larger, pro models), but the Heresys will stay. Each newer model really is an improvement over the previous one. If I wanted another set of that size and had the money, I wouldn't hesitate to get them. Bruce

We're in the low 20s here this afternoon, but supposed to be mid 60s by Thursday. At least it's clear and sunny.

My parents retired to northwest Wisconsin, where it often hit -40 in the winter. We lived in the Madison area where it got down to -10 or -20 pretty often. I think we were all pretty happy to move back south.

Klipsch La Scala purchase with Mid and Tweeter driver issues
Marvel replied to Mycuff's topic in Technical/Restorations
Don't use any silicone on the driver threads. The brittle/dried out washer can be replaced with a faucet/garden hose washer. Just make sure the hole in the washer isn't too small. -
Cornwall IV + Mark Levinson 5805 - is that OK?

And Harman is owned by Samsung... As is JBL, Revel, AKG, Lexicon and more. -
I think it bounced off a branch to come our way. He's the one that killed the kingsnake, too... after that we had copperheads in the yard.

This is a thread veer/side story: I read an interview with Rupert Neve, whose company makes/made high end audio consoles. He had a big name engineer who called him about a problem with one of his big mixers. There was a noise at about 40Khz. He could hear it... they tracked it down to a bad solder joint on a channel. I am actually glad my hearing isn't that good.

I think the only way in is to remove the woofer for access. Then figure out how to get bracing through the opening.

Those look really nice. Bob C. used to sell those caps. They are probably a good fit for those.

Working on my WB Laurel Mono Blocks finally but need capacitor info help.

I'm sorry, I uploaded the wrong ones I'll dig in my files some more, unless you already have the schematics. -
Those caps have been replaced, as Klipsch didn't use the Sonicaps. When you are hearing the distortion, I would check around the upper back to try and isolate where the distortion is coming from, i.e., something loose, wires rattling together. Easy things to notice. Even make sure the k55 is screwed on tight. Welcome to the forums!

Actually, a lot of us ARE community. Traveled across country to meet one another, helped one another, helped move equipment and supported one another when ill. So some of us are old timers who have been on here for years and have good friends here. We know each others families, whose living and who is passing away. Cheers

No argument there.

I know that isn't true across the board.

I believe they have at least one one the 1502 subs that got built. DTEL has one. That means there are only two others sitting somewhere. I bet it was fun getting it up the stairs.

I never blew any. I sold the pair I had before I had a chance. -

I like being able to see the bass horn. It makes it visually appealing and interesting. -
I thought the bass was summed to mono for vinyl production/release, so the stylus wouldn't jump out of the groove from the extreme movement. I know everyone wants to let go of this, perhaps a new thread could be started for THIS topic.
