  1. I blacked out. I can't remember but, I like beer, I love beer.
  2. It all depends on the room but, if is nice to preserve floor space and wire management.
  3. Welcome to the madness. Your avr is ok. You are talking about the Hi's and being crisp. Describe the room and room furnishing. I will let some others help you tweak the auto correction software. Give it a bit of time and other will help to work it out.
  4. I have 2 Atmos speakers. I run a 9.2.2 setup. The other two ceiling speakers are FH. I am pretty happy with the setup. I have experienced other setups with 4 Atmos speakers and not much difference. A lot of it depends on the seating arrangement.
  5. They did not throw it in there just because there were extra's laying around. Mods can be good but, 98% of the time it is hard to out do the acoustic engineers for most of us.
  6. Bigger is usually better but, one step up is not enough IMHO. More has to be done with the whole system and that takes some thought.
  7. This is a great topic but, what percentage of the overall experience is related to the visual portion of what you are watching or listening to? How much should we spend on the visual portion should we allocate to the budget?
  8. This is an interesting discussion. AVP vs Multichannel are just two different ways to audio nirvana. Music vs movies, no different, it depends on what the individual is looking for, accomodate, practical and fitting for the listening environment. All of us are truly looking for something to our liking. I've experienced various setup and liked most of them because they were tailored to the environment/room or use(HT vs Music). I just got back off vacation and the resort had a very nice small HT, 80 in. 4K TV, and surround system with one subwoofer. For movies, this was great. The rows of chair and lack of a multipurpose floor did not lend itself to music and entertaining. This is not a negative of the system but, it was not a multipurpose room or design for music. The recliner chairs is something I wish I had but, would certainly not fit my environment. Utopia is all in the eye of the user, desaire, and goal of each one of us.
  9. The most interesting thing for college football this week will be changes in the top 10. Clemson got a last minute win over unranked Syracuse, Ohio State squeaking out a win, Notre Dame rolling along and Oklahoma and LSU looking to move up.
  10. I am very satisfied with my gear. No plans to change anythings. I asked Mr. Google should I changed the system and he said sorry I don't understand, lol.
  11. Oh no, this topic again! Just give me an 8 track tape for fidelity.
  12. A lot of us have speakers with different sensitivity. It's pretty much the norm, lol. The RF7, RC 64, Surrounds all have different spec's. It is doable. Just have an avr up to the task!.
  13. You are in a large room. These speaker work well in a sheet rock ceiling. They will also work with a tile ceiling commonly used in basements. Make sure to run auto EQ, angle the speakers correctly. Your speakers are not a bad choice and don't have to be Klipsch. Mines are not Klipsch. Atmos speakers deliver ambient sound. This sound is glass breaking overhead, rain, footsteps upstair, etc. These speakers are not that active and also, lower volume than most of the other speakers. Many people think they should be more active but, they are not. Try to listen to some other peoples Atmos setup and compare. Also, surround speakers(side and rear surrounds) higher up on the wall will help with the overhead effects.
  14. First, tell us about the room, ceiling height, ceiling type, type of seating, etc. What ceiling speakers are you using?
  15. Using center speakers as L and R front speakers can be done. There are some considerations, center speakers usually have two woofer and the tweeter needs to be rotated 90 degrees. Using the bookshelf speaker as a center needs the tweeter also rotated. Center channel speaker will anchor the dialogue so it does not appear to come from the L or R speaker. For a small room that only one or two people will use, a phantom center can work as well and more money can be spent on the main. What type of room are these speakers in?
  16. Hard to give good advice without knowing more about the room, ceiling height, formal HT with rows of seats vs living room style HT, etc.
  17. Welcome Old School, while looking for speakers, ask a lot of questions.
  18. I use something like this for my subs over the past several years. It can also be used for a speaker. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_127SNI1/PAC-SNI-1.html?tp=61807
  19. Very nice pic's and it looks like a fun vacation!
  20. Ohio State's Urban Meyer on one of his players: "He doesn't know the meaning of the word fear. In fact, I just saw his grades and he doesn't know the meaning of a lot of words." Why do Tennessee fans wear orange?

So they can dress that way for the game on Saturday, go hunting on Sunday, and pick up trash on Monday. What do you say to a University of Miami Hurricane football player dressed in a three-piece suit? "

"Will the defendant please rise." If three Florida State football players are in the same car, who is driving?

The police officer.
  21. In our forum, people have almost always listed a price. We don't step on each other to get items. Oppo is going out of business. This makes some people think they are worth more money but, the contrary is true when it comes to electronics.
  22. I own an Oppo and they are over priced for what you get. They are good units but, Samsung, Sony and Panasonic offer the same value for much less. List a price and stop playing games. This is not Ebay.
