  1. Unfortunately , for some people power acts as an aphrodisiac , they just gotta screw someone when they can't muster up rational thought. That's a sad story, thanks for sharing it.
  2. There's more than 1 way to skin a cat
  3. Thanks Rick, I am going to get ahold of them Thursday,,supposedly we have some weather coming in so I didn't schedule any work. HAmmer,,I got a lump in my throat when I saw you are running 4RF 83's,hooked up to a couple xpa 2's,,,very nice ! I think I am jealous. Mark
  4. ^Thats a good idea. I wish I was in Florida,I am tired of winter already.
  5. [Y] Thanks,I overlooked the obvious.
  6. I spent yesterday fiddling around trying to get my sub to perform better than what it's capable of...it didn't work out. I have Rf83 mains and I am trying to use a Synergy sub12 with them. It isn't terrible with movies but it bums me out when I am listening to music. ,,I have known that I need a new one , but have been trying to put up with it until I got the coin to replace it. That day will happen towards the end of March , so I have been looking at different brands, and reading what I can,but Some of the specs do nothing but confuse me. My room is L shaped with a with a dining room at the bottom of the L ., the dining room opens to a kitchen.. So total square footage where the system is set up would be 30 ft by 22 ft,,although the actual listening area is 22ft by15 .(8ft ceilings) The Power Sound Audio xv15 ,has caught my eye, and I think that is where I am leaning.Lots of love on the AVS forum, price is right, and has good warranty. I was wondering what you guys think of it,as far as giving me something decent for music. sorry I am unable to post a link. thanks in advance, Mark
  7. Welcome Which speaker got damaged?..The center or one of the towers? Your correct about wanting to keep your speakers the same, especially if its your mains. Where are you located? I have an f-2 system that is not in use,,,, but I couldn't sell just one of the mains,,, and with shipping it may be easier to go wit the icon's,,,i would have no problem selling the center if thats what you need...I live in Nebraska. Mark
  8. Thanks Derrick I think going with what is recommended is the best route but sometimes you gotta do whatcha gotta do.,I tried getting a 64 but with the shipping nightmares I read, and the fact I don't trust any Tom, Richard, or Henry , to be honest on the inter web , I felt safer buying from an authorized dealer. When the Klipsch rep said no big deal, I went for the 64ii, and have absolutely no regrets. That being said.....if the 82ii's are supposed to be mated with the rc62 center, I would definitely attempt getting the 62., the 64ii is ginormous.. ( by the way,, I have yet to meet a Tom, Richard, or Henry,on the forum that I would'nt trust Mark
  9. I am probably gonna be demonized for this but..... I have absolutely no problem running an RC-64ii with my rf-83's. A perfectly matched center to mains is probably "better", and granted rf83's are not rf82's,but I do not have voice matching problems.( that I notice) I prefer to listen in 2 channel for music , so basically my center is for movies,t.v, etc. I do not think that having the newer reference center ,with older reference speakers makes a whole lot of difference for movies..when dialog sweeps/pans from the left or right there is no issue as far as cohesiveness . I talked to support at Klipsch prior to buying the 64ii , and whoever I talked to said the matching would not be a big deal, to me it isn't. I agree with everyone about getting the best you can, and the recommended center would be the route to go. by the way, welcome ,mark
  10. I also enjoyed reading this, Rick did a very nice job. This will be well bumped methinks.

    IPad Issue

My wife's iPad was doing the same thing at home, if she closed out of her mail on the iMac she could get it on the iPad, then if she didn't close the mail app on the iPad she couldn't get her mail on the iMac.I got it working, but can't really remember how( lotta help , huh) what I do know is you have to make sure you have the same pop accounts on your computer and iPad, ...also I absolutely know if you go to Apple Support Communities ....( google it) you can do a search and find answers to most problems with Apple products. sorry I couldn't give you a better answer Mark
  12. I like the quality of Amazon streaming over Netflix , or the play station store, using a ps3. My kids talked me into getting Netflix and I wasn't to thrilled with their selection, I did start watching Stargate SG1 and got to the 3rd season before it disappeared from their selections,I saw amazon prime had it and tried a30 day free membership. I decided to keep it. To me the selection is as good as Netflix ,although a lot of stuff overlaps. Being from Nebraska I like good old corny Sci fi and am up to season 9 now......also at least 9lbs heavier
  13. iTunes does something odd with playlists, I ran into a similar problem last year when I was trying to direct the Logitech Media Server to find playlists. I never was successful, so I am not much help there. As far as simplicity in a backup drive, apple's Time Capsule seemed like the easiest alternative, although like all their products, ease of use comes with a price. I completely forgot about getting one until I read your post, thanks for the reminder.....I think.
  14. They have a surprisingly good bottom end. I listen to a lot more multi-channel music since putting a pair in my system. good luck with sale/purchase
  15. Hey Joe, You might want to ask the guys over at the Emotiva forum, they are pretty familiar with issues that arise with the preamps. Congratulations on the new gear!
  16. Very nice! I like the colors you chose , it looks really inviting.
  17. Vegas has the Niner's favored by 3 and 1/2. I think it will be less than that after all the hype starts.
  18. He's been on fire, if he stays in form the Raven's will be tough to beat. Should be a true contest.
  19. Thick As A Brick , original CD, DVD remixed to 5.1 surround in both DTS and Dolby Digital.,Special Collectors Edition . Chyrsalis Records/EMI Pros ...Been looking for a copy of the cd for awhile, found this Xmas shopping, bought myself a gift! If you are a fan of the original you will find this outstanding.Steve Wilson did a very nice job remastering to 5.1. Nice separation of all channels , very clear detailed mix. Comes with the St. Cleve Chronical in booklet form ,along with lots of photo's,interviews , etc. sounds outstanding. Cons... Sounds like a 1 note flaw about 1minute int the 5.1 remix. Rating... 4 3/4 out of 5 ( the flawed note knocks of 1/4 point )...if you are a Tull fan you ...really will mind if you sit this one out
  20. I have a 5.1 setup which is similar .83's as fronts, 64ii center, and rb75 s as surrounds. Scrappydue has given you good advice. If I had my druthers I think I would prefer to have the rs series as surrounds in a 5.1 setup. The rb-75's sound really good , but are very directional( and large). My room makes setting them up on the difficult side, only 2 seats have the true benefit of enveloping surround sound. Guess where I sit?
  21. I am not in Tampa , but if I remember correctly the MLB teams box offices do not sell single game tickets until after the season starts. I was in a similar situation trying to buy Tigers tickets last year, I got them somehow..Stubhub maybe.i know I have used them before, they are legit. the Bluejays should be interesting to watch this year. Good luck with your search.
