  1. Are you saying this about the TH sub in general, or about your system in your nine foot tall room, specifically?
  2. Those Klipschorns look very nice. The seller is in Seattle, home of speaker-lab, so using the word Authentic in the local C-L ad for previously owned speakers is probably good for the general public.
  3. I have been wondering about this unusual problem since you posted last week. Glad to read that you fixed it.
  4. Thanks for sharing your observations. Can you describe the listening room?
  5. I see they sell both pieces, and other sizes too, so you can bolt together the correct adapter for your horn and driver combo. Their web pages may display different to you, depending on your browser.
  6. @babadono, I am glad you asked. When I read about your wood adapter project a couple weeks ago, I thought of this aluminum adapter as an alternative, but I was really impressed by your wood sawing skill with that project.
  7. I may have bought it from US Speaker.com / speaker accessories / horn adapter. In my picture above, the adapter on the left has the screw on mount added by me for my application.
  8. Thanks. I learned about that great idea by reading the Klipsch forums.
  9. These tri-amped speakers are part of a totally separate stereo system from the other speakers in the room. They are temporarily modified, but just like the others, these Klipschorns can be easily returned to original condition when desired because I saved the parts for that purpose.
  10. I keep reading good reviews about the Hypex.
  11. The surround channel speakers at the back of the room had at one time also been modified for the fun of it, but have since been restored to their original condition with the minimal effort of spinning some screws and re-installing the parts.
  12. There are magnets beneath the veneer for attaching a grill, but the exposed horn looks good in this room.
  13. Here is some info that might help.
  14. One of my friends asked me why I wear ear plugs while riding such a quiet motorcycle. I said it is so I don't have to listen to his annoying loud exhaust.
  15. Klipsch forum members are the best technical support group in the entire audio world.
  16. The guy appears to have met a lot of interesting people during his life, collected a bunch of rare things and also enjoyed listening to Klipsch speakers.
  17. I have some of those on a pair of speakers. I like them.
  18. The cabinets are looking good. Your fabrication and assembly methods are excellent.
  19. The close up images are cool. I like how the guy explains the way he prepped the surfaces.
  20. As mentioned above, the jumper wires should be connected, as shown, along with the other wires in their proper places.
  21. I have a pair of Brand X speakers next to the K-horns for occasional comparison and demonstration purposes. They measure a fairly flat frequency response and sound nice, but when doing an A-B test between the Brand X (subwoofers ON) and the K-horns (subwoofers OFF) at matched SPLs, the K-horns sound more lively and musical. The Brand X don't get played much. When the volume goes up, the Klipsch have the huge efficiency advantage and there is no fair comparison.
  22. Yes, I agree. Even if the subwoofer is rugged and capable of excess excursion, it will ultimately perform and sound better when all the inaudible, unwanted subsonic signals are filtered out. @Westcoastdrums , Your MBM21 looks awesome. I bet it frightens your neighbors who have survived some of the big SoCal earthquakes. 😮
