  1. Those speakers have now dropped to $500, down $700 from when they were first listed. I wonder why?
  2. I have No Afil with this sale and I listed it here because I have questions about the KSP 400. They are rarely discussed here. This is a Synergy series and I read they may have cost $3500 new in the 1990's, FS at $900 now. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/821946921876866/?notif_id=1604684534119120&notif_t=marketplace_price_drop&ref=notif The knock on them seems to be a constant hum probably due to the integrated sub amp. Does anybody know anything about them? I find them good looking, and interesting. Opinions, please.
  3. Agree with everything Peter suggested just upstream ^^^. I have also converted a small bedroom into a mancave, aka the computer room. My favorite setup is with gigantic CF-4 speakers and a 15" DIY powered sub. I do most of my listening through Youtube. I wanted to try a new 100 wpc mini-amp (ahem, 40 or so watts realistically) so I set up the RP-600M and a powered Paradigm 10" sub, 250 wpc. I used the high level inputs to the sub, then out to the 600M, 2.1 setup. The speakers and sub is about six feet from my computer chair. I don't have a picture. This is an OUTSTANDING computer speaker setup. I haven't switched back to the CF-4's yet which I love because I am really enjoying the 600M's. These speakers play everything, in my case female vocals, male vocals, brass, organ, jazz, classical. The sound is crystal clear, very full sound. Questions?
  4. I missed both of the ones you mentioned ^^^. OTOH that search missed the single I noted for $700:
  5. The other best way would be to look in the Heritage Prices spreadsheet. I'm sure I've missed a couple but I include the confirmed Sold prices in the spreadsheet. If I see it I make a note of that type of information. Not arguing, just trying to be helpful. Have you ever tried to use the Klipsch Forums search engine? Gak! πŸ€“
  6. Of course I take offense! Everybody here knows what a sensitive snowflake I am. πŸ˜₯ / πŸ˜† +++ You said you would not sell your 50's Khorns for what the spreadheet average was. I think the category of pre-60's Khorns exposes a weakness in that category, very few samples. The AVG price is not very valid IMO, but at least someone reading the confirmed sale prices can see what other people bought or sold their speaker for. You can click on any cell with a red triangle to see my detailed notes. Pricing vintage stuff is an art, not a science. Discussing how to value Heritage speakers is part of how I enjoy our audio hobby and all opinions are respected. My spreadsheet is numbers on a page. People buy and sell, I simply jot down what I see. Nothing is personal. I also don't always agree with what the spreadsheet says, but the numbers are the numbers. Guys are welcome to use or not use the information as they see fit. The bottom line is a used and even a new speaker is worth whatever a willing Buyer and a willing Seller can agree to.
  7. Yep, I can testify to that. πŸ€œπŸ€› If you're crazy fast in the woods, you're in third gear at the most, going 30 mph. Usually when you crash on a dirt bike, all you get is dirty. I can live with dirty.
  8. Geez, are you trying to give me nightmares? I puckered up and nearly crapped myself just watching him save it. You could see once he was off the bike he couldn't back off the throttle as he was too far back and couldn't get enough leverage to uncoil his throttle hand. And did you see him drop his head after he pulled to the side and remounted? I know his legs were still shaking because mine were. Sometimes almost crashing is worse than crashing. 😣
  9. Interesting! And that is an excellent defense of your choices, Ch2 over the LS, based on speakers you have owned. The "traditional" pecking order, arguably is: 1. Jubes (I didn't used to include Jubes but I think they have now established themselves as a residential speaker) 2. Khorn 3. La Scala 4. Cornwall 5. Chorus II +++ Ed I don't know if your Chorus II's have sold yet but if Chicago were any closer to West Virginia than it is those Ch2's would already be in my living room.
  10. There are a NUMBER of ways that could have turned out bad! I was a motocross and hare scrambles guy, I raced for ten years. You couldn't pay me enough money to ride that thing, or other go-fast things like it. That video is why I think you RR guys are nuts!
  11. I thought I tracked Khorn singles but I guess not. I tracked LS singles. Khorn pair averages $2200. For a single I would value it at half the Average price for Type AA XO in Good condition, minus $100. $1000 +/- $100 sounds about right. @Schu ^^^ nailed it. Here is your research tool. 12. I don't usually comment on pricing on sales by Forum members but I will comment here, good price! If a forum member gets them they will recognize the update parts are well worth it as well. Those won't last long, I hope someone here gets them. GLWYS
  13. Wow! Hang on to that thing as it's considered the best big bore ever made. It's more than a classic, it's a legend! Tell me this doesn't look sexy!
  14. I predict those LS will be gone in 3, 2, 1... I hope a forum member grabs those. I used to own a very similar set, sold against my will due to She Who Will Not Be Named. Great speakers.
  15. I know your Vstrom 650, it was my ideal bike. Lightweight, good power with plenty of low end torque. I tried to buy one several years ago and due to my ignorance I got the street version with the low handlebars. I could have swapped bars to something higher and pulled back but then the cables would have been too short. Too much hassle. Instead I sold it a week later for $1000 more than I paid for it. It is a vertical twin making it nice and narrow. I also know the Kaw 650 but when I rode one the single cylinder vibrated more than I would care for, and of course Kaw had not updated the engine in a quarter of century. I'm going to get out of the motorcycle riding business but if I got another bike the mid-sized engine Vstrom would be my first choice.
  16. I started racing MX in the late 60's. All the exotic European bikes were there. Maico's, Husqvarna's, Bultaco's, CZ's, all running straight expansion chambers with no mufflers, all running Castrol in their premix. The Castrol was a bean oil and the wonderful smell as they went by is forever etched in my mind. Great memories.
  17. There is a resurgence of vintage 2-strokes in the vintage racing bike world. That 500cc 2-stroke Honda is a legend and is highly sought after.
  18. That's not the problem. The clutch lever cam is engineered with that short throw. This is a well known issue with this bike and there is a fix. You can buy a cam from a later year Yamaha (not sure which year) that will drop in and significantly widen the amount of engagement. It's a $30 fix but I decided it's still not the bike for me. I need an old man's bike.
  19. Click on the red triangle in any cell for my detailed notes including confirmed prices, not asking prices from Ebay. This is a good research tool and take note some here think it's out-of-date due to recent used prices going up. You can do your own research on recent average prices and make your own decision, the data is there. -Dave Klipsch Heritage used prices ver 2020-05.xlsx
  20. I bought a used 2005 Yamaha FZ6 20K miles for my 64th birthday Feb 2020. The thing makes 98hp at 12, maybe 13,000 rpm. The throttle is not a light switch but the clutch is. It has nothing-nothing-nothing then it has about 1/4" play until full engagement. I had to rev it up to about 5,000 rpm just to get it moving. Even as a former motocrosser and street rider, It scares me to death. It's way too fast for me. Anyone want to buy a used Yamaha? I'll knock $500 off the KBB price.
  21. I did not know that! Thanks for the info. πŸ‘ Edit: If I had thought this through I would have realized that on my own. After the Type AA the LS and Khorn XO's split off into the AL and AK respectively.
  22. Type AL crossovers. Many people would say those are the worst sounding XO's for a Khorn build. For that low price, maybe worth it? I don't know.
  23. Very professional presentation on the ad, Tom. I've also bought items for projects never completed so I know what you mean. GLWYS
  24. I watched this vid earlier tonight. It was a good review and a good reviewer. The amp was $800 during the review six months ago, it is now $1300 on Amazon. Disclaimer: I don't own a tube amp and I know nothing about them.
  25. I'm with you. The manufacturers are coming out with 8K in their AVR's. Hopefully that will put some lightly used high end AVR's on the pre-owned market at decent prices. Used AVR's tend to fall steeply in price but a good pre-pro holds its value a little better.
