  1. I know a guy that Loves Bose.. He thinks they're better than Klipsch.
  2. Personally--I would choose a Denon or Marantz over a Yamaha. I like the way they sound.
  3. Lower end Yamaha's are know for big power output drops as you use more speaker outputs. So bi-amping with them reduces overall power from the AVR to the speakers.
  4. I am a big fan of the older H-K gear but not the new stuff. From some of the reviews I've read they are under powered and cheaply made. I've looked at them and would not buy them. I went to accessories4less and bought a refurbished Denon and am very happy with th sound quality and performance of this unit. And I saved a lot of money. Here is a couple of examples to consider. https://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/marsr5011/marantz-sr5011-7.2-ch-x-100-watts-networking-a/v-receiver/1.html https://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/denavrx1400h/denon-avr-x1400h-7.2-ch-x-80-watts-networking-a/v-receiver-w/heos/1.html these 2 brands sound great---look here for a good deal.
  5. For my Synergy set up, I use the same 3 speakers across the front with the center on it side so I can place the 43" TV on top of it. That was my choice and best option since my TV stand is too small to hold the TV. I don't care what anyone says about using a main speaker for a center, 3 identical speakers in the front sound awesome compared to a smaller center. To each his own.
  6. I do not think this is a good idea. You'd have to replace almost everything in the speaker cabinet except maybe the Mid-woofers and the cabinet is so cheap it would be best to use them as a surround speaker. They would make a great surround just as they are.
  7. You sure do a lot of thinkin....I would have bought one already.
  8. SNEAK PEEK AT NEW HORN SPEAKER---IS THIS A KLIPSCH ?
  9. I use these --I do not know what the ones you're looking at cost but these are reasonable. They just have to be stable in holding the wire and terminal contact. Function over looks for me--do fancier work better for the average guy ? https://www.parts-express.com/parts-express-gold-plated-screw-type-banana-plugs-18-12-awg-16-pcs--091-352
  10. I just use cheap BP from PartsExpress--they have one screw and a colored jacket. The plug just has to hold the wire and since I'm not moving wires around all the time I really don't need fancy BP's. They sound fine.
  11. That money just burning a Hole in your Pocket?
  12. I think the Klipsch ATMOS Speakers are kinda a One Size Fits All. If you want ATMOS--get the ATMOS speaker and use it. It's importance for voice match is kinda like surrounds.
  13. I can't agree since each environment is different and everyone hears differently. And if the speaker is Not accurate you can always just start disconnecting drivers.
  14. There are ways to tame speakers without tone controls which I didn't mention. I'd use tone controls before I altered a $1800 speaker. I can change the tone of my system without tone controls.
  15. I wonder if Keillor has Klipsch on the prairie ?
  16. Anyone can tinker--I have 10 speakers available for my use. 3 Klipsch Towers 3 Polk Towers 4 Polk Bookies Any one of these can sound crappy with the wrong settings. Any system I put together can sound great with attention to setting in the electronics. Most of the time a system sounds bad--if quality products are used. it's operator error and bad settings--not knowing how to use equipment.
  17. I modded my Synergy because they were entry level and cheaply made with crappy guts. If I had a Brand New Pair of Forte III's--I sure would not try to make them into a 2-way speaker--That's heresy .
  18. I've never had crackling speakers and break in would have nothing to do with any crackling.
  19. My dad was a guitar teacher and vocal coach and I play drums. I have been around musical instruments since the day I was born. I have been around "Live" sound longer than I can remember. Just because you go to a concert and the sound is harsh doesn't mean it's the equipment's fault--That would fall on the operator. Any good system can sound bad when operated by a fool.
  20. I want the best sounding speakers and equipment for any money I spend. I try to be smart about it. I don't need to visit any audio stores unless I have money to buy things. My system sounds pretty good and that's good enough for my family. Right now, I desire nothing and that's a great place to be.
  21. Having a speaker that sounds "lifelike" doesn't mean it has to cause Listener Fatigue. While some frequencies might irritate certain people and the way they hear things, that is not listener fatigue. Listener fatigue is caused by a speaker that is almost impossible to enjoy, one that sounds bad.
