  1. Well, that’s one way to do a polar radiation plot.
  2. The joys of Missouri? I have a friend out only a few miles SW of me (@mookiestl can guess where) that says you better have a gun because the police are always an hour away.
  3. I recently collected my father’s things and put this together: Poor photo, I know. His mother died when he was not quite 2 and his father died when he was 9. He got shuffled around foster families until the war broke out. He lied about his age and joined the Navy. He was in WWII in the Pacific and then was in the Korean conflict too. Came back more or less in one piece, became a machinist, chased my mother until she relented, built a house in the country and raised 5 of us. Died at 83 in the house he built. Interesting life for sure.
  4. Me too. Closer to 1986/87. I didn't know what they were. I know I liked the sound and I remembered the V front. That single event factored in to my putting a big Klipsch logo on my splits. Big enough that ANYONE that happens to hear them in the future doesn't have to wonder what they are. They can take a photo from a long way away and still be able to read the logo, go home, and type in KLIPSCH and find the site. Then order some. That's my theory, anyway.
  5. Maybe because you are new. I just checked mine and it is still where I told you it was. ask @Chad
  6. You can climb inside and paint them. So cool.
  7. Bust a window out and haul “em in that way.
  8. Sorry to hear about the circumstances. You know you can borrow my setup any time you’d like.
  9. You could move there, then when the next ones came up, they'd be near. Oh, wait.
  10. Thank you for this. I’ve already learned something. I never knew it was still possible to get new Jubilees. That’s a dangerous thing!
  11. khorn = bass extension schorn = hair extension
  12. Heads up to my STL friends. 12th annual Record Store Day is the 14th of April. 13. I’d love to see this too, completely voluntary. photos would be great, too.
  14. I couldn’t get the top part of this photo to post, but she's adjusting a grille on a Heresy, I think.
  15. This might make a nice pairing with the Rotel RB-1050 amp for sale elsewhere on this site.
  16. This is a nice amp and a good price, IMO. From the website: "Ideal for demanding custom installations, the ultra-stable RB-1050 combines audiophile sound quality and bullet-proof circuitry. A multi-mode amplifier, the RB-1050 develops 70 watts per channel for stereo reproduction. Individual sensitivity adjustments and auto on signal sensing circuitry allow use with a variety of distribution devices or processors. Buffered line level outputs allow multiple amplifiers to daisy chain from a single source. The toroid-based power supply and high damping factor ensure precise control of virtually all speakers. 12 volt trigger jacks and a detachable AC cord make this amplifier ideal for remote operated distributed audio systems. A front panel LED array shows clipping and protection modes for quick system analysis." Owner's manual at: http://rotel.com/sites/default/files/product/manuals/RB-1050-OM.pdf
  17. That's your opportunity! I'd buy some now before she realizes that she sort of gave you permission!
  18. This is true in my case as well. I drive a 2004 vehicle - cars don't give me joy *at all*. Most people I know think I'm crazy, but you nailed it - it is what gives you joy. I get a lot of joy out of my Klipsch speakers.
  19. I use pipe insulation. The foam type - it is already split lengthwise. Just put it on the edges and push the khorn into the corner.
