My X was a scorpio. I'm a gemini. Best together for --x and worst together for living together!
& the road I lived on for most of my life was Montpelier, no scorpions but I brought chameleons back to there from FL!
Got to hear them pop or you stomp them again, had black scorpions in Orlando.
Hi,
It's Montpellier in France Occitanie region for me, beautiful coincidence 😁
I have already seen many names of cities that I know while walking around with google maps and street: these virtual trips are beautiful.
I know that there are many cities in your area in America which bear the names of European cities (French, Spanish, English, Irish, German ...), certainly related to the founders of these cities.
Chameleons : nice

Here is a Google translation of the user manual of the amplifier from German to English, it is a class AB with input stages in class A.

And here is a nice German record with a superb blue amp handcrafted in Bavaria (Schwarzach am Main) by a craftsman. The fact that the record is superbly recorded and that it spins at 45 rpm makes the sound fantastic, my CW's K33Es are thrilled
It's a little nod to our friend @MicroMara

Hi,
Related to your pretty discs of Western Spagetti movie soundtracks
A little off topic, sorry everyone, but a photo of my motorbike in the Tabernas desert in Spain Andalusia, where the Spaghetti westerns were filmed: splendid!

Hi,
@Mossy bottom Souvenirs memories, I had a beautiful LP12 in 1980: with a Lurné arm and a beautiful Dynavector Karat Rubis, it was an extraordinary ensemble at the time. Congratulations on your beautiful set up: turntable, arm, cartridge 🧡

Hi,
Cary audio from the 90s when Dennis Had was in command, are also a fantastic option with Klipsch Heritage. I don't know what the current models are worth, but there is always a special Klipsch Heritage SLi80 model !

Hi,
The photographer and his smartphone suck and I failed to pay tribute to him, but the subject is beautiful:
The sky of Provence with a beautiful rainbow. The sky of Provence is famous for its colors and its beautiful luminosity, it was painted by great painters who came or come in my region, precisely for this so beautiful sky which illuminates the subjects in a fantastic way: Cezanne, Van Gogh, Renoir , Picasso, Vasarely, Fragonard, Chagall, Cocteau, Signac, Ziem ... and many others.
There must be photyographers too, moreover near my home there is an international festival of photography every year: the Arles meetings, but here I do not know the subject of photography, nor the names.

Hi,
I just received 2 beautiful Russian 5U3C valves from Ukraine.
These are Svetlana from 1962 with black Plate, they are taller and thinner than 5U3C Svetlana gray plate from the 70s / 80s.
They are beautiful and I find the softness of the sound that the SLI-50 Cary had with the CV729 valve: I love it 🧡

Hi,
I think like John J, if you want to keep your vinyls use a MicroLine (or MicroRidge is the same), a Shibata or Fine Line.
https://www.ad-na.com/en/product/jewel/product/stylus.html
The MicroRidge / MicroLine is the most elaborate stylus, with laser and computer size. Its contact surface with the groove of the disc is the largest of any diamond cut. Audiotechnica, Shure V15 V MR, Dynavector, JICO and others have used this MicroRidge size on their high end cartridges
I have an Audio Technica VM740ML, the MicroLine is great is now not very expensive, I think it's a shame to damage your vinyl records with an elliptical today.

Hi @Limberpin
A test that may interest you: close one of the two vents on each speaker with a thick, airtight cloth and tell us if it's better. This test is completely reversible and does not damage your equipment. The bass reflex will be tuned lower, listen. If you don't like it, take it all off and it will go back to how it was before.
Here is the same test on an ONKEN speaker

Hi,
You're welcome for research, it's the Klipsch community forum effect ✌️
Here on the McIntosh brochure says 22 "deep, as you saw at the resellers, but that's with the front panel buttons and rear cables connected.MA5300 Integrated Amplifier Brochure
But this is an approximate and estimated value depending on the cable used; in my opinion they get 22 "by putting banana plugs on the connectors of the speakers. And in any case it is always possible to mount angled cables, especially the mains power supply, with forks or bare for the speakers or the XLRs which are often those with the longest sockets: all are available in shallow depths, for example for professional rack mounting: where space saving is important.
example
Well, the main thing is to have the drawing of the amp to reflect its size, as in the manual- 2

Yep you’re absolutely right. And there’s actually a couple other models that do have it that I thought didn’t have it. Like the Yamaha AS models do have it, even if it isn’t explicitly called “home theater bypass”.
my only real quibble with the MA5300 is how massive it is. At 22 inches deep it’s longer than my current entertainment center, which is 19 inches deep. I was thinking maybe it could still fit with some overhang on the front and back but I can’t find a side profile pic of the unit to determine exactly how far apart the feet of the unit are. Obviously if the feet are no more than 19 inches apart it could still work.
Regardless, if the MA5300 was something I really wanted I would get it and wouldn’t let trivial details such as my entertainment center dimensions deter me. I would just get it and figure it out when it came.
Yep I’ve totally considered that MA352 as an option. It’s just a little out of the range I want to spend though.
I do need to check out offerings from PrimaLuna though. I have not looked at anything from them.
Yeah you’re correct about my intended setup. But two channel stereo is what’s most important by far. I just need home theater to work.
The MA5300 does not measure 22 ", but 18" 3/4, so about 20 "with the cables. In addition, if you let the chrome parts of the front face protrude, you regain 29/32": which will roughly be 19 " deep with the cables, it should go through your furniture, right?
See page 5 there is a side drawing of the appliance, the distance between feet is 13" center distance, approximately 14 "from edge to edge of the outside of the feet.
See page 5 >>>>> MA5300 Integrated Amplifier Owner's Manual
It would be a shame to miss such a beautiful amp that you like so much for a dimension error, so forget the 22 "and hurray for the 18" 3/4

Hi,
If the jumpers are checked and properly in place.
Ask Simply speakers if these are compatible, which look very similar look with F30 tweeter #10123010 just the pods that are and the spacer of the support screws which is different: it may be necessary to put a shim or adapt the support. There are in stock.

I’ve been racking my brain for weeks now scouring the internet seeking out the perfect (for my needs) integrated amp to pair with my Cornwall IV.
When I find something that I think will be perfect, upon further inspection it has glaring issues or omissions. Like a lack of home theater bypass. I thought the NAD M33 was the one for me. But nope no home theater bypass.
I had the same problem with the McIntosh MA5300. Plus it’s massive. So deep it won’t even fit in or even on top of my current entertainment center.
None of the big gorgeous amps with VU meters have home theater bypass….Like the Yamaha AS models.
I’ve considered the Parasound HINT 6, which has all the features I want but it’s made in China or similar and just looks cheap as hell to me. Same problem with the Rotel 1592MKII.
I do love that the HINT 6 is class A for like the first 5 watts. Plus it’s bass management features. High pass filter, low pass filter, it really has it all.
Ugh I don’t even know anymore. I may start looking at preamps and mono blocks again….
At McIntosh, the Cinema BYPASS feature is called PASSTHRU and the MA5300 is well equipped with it. Look at the photos of the back of the device and the features given by McIntosh:

Home Theater PassThru

The Automatic PassThru Mode allows the MA5300 to become part of a Multichannel Sound System for DVD-Audio, SACD and Home Theater Movies.

The McIntosh PassThru system is complete, programmable and efficient, read in particular pages 9, 19 and 28 and more
