  6. Other countries have mental illness. Women have mental illness but it is white males who buy easy to obtain military assault weapons and go on killing sprees. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Other countries play the same games. They don’t have mass murders by assault weapons. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Hi Tom! Welcome to Klipschland. Klipschorns were my introduction to Klipsch. I couldn’t afford them so I bought Heresys in 1978. I still have them and listen to them daily. Klipsch are most efficient so you don’t need a huge powerful amplifier. If you have good corners along the same wall put them snuggly into the corners and toe them in 45 degrees. They are 4x more efficient this way. Corner placement also reinforces the bass. With corner placement you may find they are satisfactory without a sub. I’ve only had my sub three years and was totally happy with them for 37 years. Good listening my friend from the UK! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I have Heresy ls. I see no reason to change them to llls. If you are obsessed with changing them Bob Crites has the drivers and motor boards. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Never saw this. Where I live CDs are 2 to 3 dollars cheaper than movies. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  12. I enjoyed the record reviews in Stereo Review. Back in the day I subscribed to Stereo Review, Audio, and High Fidelity. Sure do miss them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. If you have two corners place them as far into the corner you can. Toe them in 45 degrees. PWK said all speakers benefit from corner placement. Improves efficiency 8 X. Corner placement also reinforces bass. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Twenty years ago I bought some used and abused LaScalas. No badges. I contacted the Klipsch factory in Hope by phone. I think I gave them the S/N for proof and they promptly sent me replacements. Can’t remember the price but they didn’t break the bank. Might give them a try. Great speakers from great people. Same badges you are looking for. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I only resorted to Amazon when selection at Best Buy started dwindling. Their selection of concert DVDs is almost nonexistent. Brick and mortar stores have to offer customers a product or they will go on line. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I have LaScalas too. I can start listening at a certain volume and find myself turning it down. It’s the material. Different songs have different peaks. In the old days when dubbing LPs and CDs to tape I would find the loudest part of an album to set my levels so I wouldn’t have to ride the gain. When it gets louder turn it down. Nothing wrong. 17. A square magnet rocks better and a round magnet rolls better. With the rock and the roll, all’s good[emoji41] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. The newer tweeters and squawkers are taller. The real estate of the motorboard required closer placement. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Baltic Birch was used because of it’s consistency. There are no voids between the plys. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I bought my Heresys new in 1980. They are still essentially the same now. The only differences I see is the drivers are crammed together and the are made of MDF now instead of Baltic Birch. When my wife and I toured the factory I was surprised to see stacks of the plywood against the wall with a stenciled Hammer and Sickle in red on the edges of the plywood. MDF is cheaper than the imported Russian plywood and I’ve always been curious if they passed the savings to the consumer. I saw that the bass response is given down to 58hz. The bass on mine in 1978 was 50hz. My speakers are 40 years old and I’ve been through different amps, receivers, turntables, and CD players. They’re still going strong and sound as beautiful as they did when I took them out of their boxes. The Heresy is a fine speaker and a great investment. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. My room is 19’x 25’. They are along the 19’ Wall. I do what The Colonel said. They are STUFFED in the corners and toed in 45 degrees.Corner placement reinforces bass and increases the efficiency 8x. When my Heresys were my mains the same applied. If you don’t have corners still toe them in on a 45. This still gives you the sweet spot and gives any listener in the room a more balanced left and right. The horns make sure of that. With the wide dispersion of horns it is not critical for them to be at ear level. This is my opinion but it is based off of the Colonels findings. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. The loudness wars pre dates CD. They used compression to make records louder on AM radios in cars. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Didn’t they lose to Philadelphia? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. How true your comment. Modern music does not stand on it’s own but is background music. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. There is very little quality new music around these days that requires intent listening. In the past a record co. signed artist to extended contracts and allowed and encourage them to grow. Now they want an instant hit and then throw them away resulting in throw away music. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
