    What I Got Today!

I got a Blast from my Past: A son was rooting thru my office lookin for a journal and found these in a file of old stuff-
  2. Does it work well on its own? Or will you need a sub (espresso) to enjoy de full effect? Sometimes I bi-amp (Colombian and Guatemalan) or tri-amp. (Add French Roast) Tubes (French press) or SS (drip system)?
  3. Quote from Fairy Godparent Cosmo: "Never cook bacon with your shirt off."
  4. Their parents brought them. We just played with them. Got all five of our kids, and all the grandkids together.
  5. My wife and I with alla da grandkids at Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs during this past Christmas.
  6. Got the garden in. The large plant is a pepper which survived the brutal Phoenix winter.
  7. Local talent in Tucson. My wife and I posing with a character at the Buckethead show:
  8. I have two signs: one is for Rancho Chupacabra, our first house in Az, the other is "Rancho Twopacabra" our current abode.
  9. Spraying weeds at Rancho Chupacabra would be a lot less onerous chore if the weeds acted like this
  10. @kink56 I live in Chandler Az, and have a pair of la Scala. If there is no one in Your general area that you can get a listen from we could probably arrange a session. The only turntable I have is a Victrola, so vinyl is out, but cd's will work. I use a 1980's SS Yamaha pre and amp for signal processing. No sub yet. I am generally available Fri & Sat after noon. Sunday after 1300. Shoot me a PM if yer interested.
  11. No. We have a built in entertainment center, and I only have ~ 7.5" clearance top to bottom to fit a center in the TV cubby. Any recommendations on a low profile center which would suit the Heresy?
  12. Is either of the RC-52 a good center for a pair of Heresy in an HT set up?

Ahhhhhh yes. The old fold versus crumble debate. When in AIT, Pete DiGuglielmo and I did a survey of our Company, on fold versus crumble. After polling about 90% of the unit, one person refused to answer. Pete shouted to me, across the Covered Training Area, "Hey Joe, we got a non user here!" Many LOL's. The results were about 60% folded (or at least claimed they did) and the rest, but one, crumbled. No examinations on the efficacy of either technique (klingons, bacon stripes, etc.) were done. The things Medics do when they are bored.
  16. In eastern Co. and all of southern Az. Yez gots ta run da water through a softener. A reverse osmosis unit is a must post softening, to take the edge off. Ya live where the work is, and adjust to be happy. Colorado Springs and New York City have the best water I've ever had, but ya work with what you've got. Kinda like room treatments.

    Olympic Hockey

Well shut my mouth. The handshakes happened after the medal ceremony. But it would have been better if the players had lined up and passed in review after the contest, in my opinion.

    Olympic Hockey

Very pleased that the US ladies team won the Gold. A very exciting contest. But what happened to the post contest handshake? In the NHL players beat the heck out of each other for two weeks, but shake hands when its over, and I find this to be a fine tradition. Why not in the Olympics?

    What I Got Today!

I got a Z-Pack for a strep throat. On the plus side I now sound like Dr. Claw, and the grandkids love that. "I'll get you next time, Gadget.........next time......"
  21. But how does it sound?😋
  22. I have never built a "gaming PC" but have built a number of performance desktops. I got the processors at a discount from Intel (my employer) the rest of the parts were purchased from Newegg, Tiger Direct or Amazon. TomsHardware.com is a pretty good place to compare performance of various components to maximize performance per $ spent. And also to help troubleshoot any issues which may arise during the build. Hope he enjoys the activity.
