  1. … stay up an extra hour, then set the clocks back an hour... or sleep an extra hour, or get up like regular, then set the clock back an hour till the middle of the dawn, or use the free hour to go buy a huge can of McCrappee, or search endlessly for a new picture of my fat cat laying around the house, or WAIT !!! it's Saturday, Dos Equis time....
  2. as a beginner in the early 60's, I enjoyed herb albert and marty robbins on my dad's invention, 4-15" speakers built into the den, but the 70's reveled that big L60 tires and an 8 track in a chevy vega were not forth-coming for sounding experiments and eternity.... well, still a beginner (after 60 year's) - building some sound panels this weekend . o O (shhhh~)
  3. . o O (need a little welcome home weather for the dtel expedition) soon
  4. my tv sound used to cut off when I put my Dewalt flash light on the mantle... can't get it to replicate that experience this morning....
  5. I had the same spelling mistake when I found my second set of La Scala's, of course, the seller did too lol 🔠
  6. in the name of science, I looked on the top shelf in my laundry closet, and wanted to suggest that you try a few odd remedies besides goo-gone, too many solvents in that choice, whereas an organic orange oil would do the same however, I don't have a sticky remote around to test (but will look probably later) thus, google says to make a mixture of baking soda and water to remove that coating on your plastic malformities ...
  7. I was wearing my yellow rain coat at work yesterday, and some guy asked if I was Santa Clause lol.... stopped by Chiles later last night, and the bartender had her cat's meow goin', and asked what I was, which prompted the word's... Regular... and she asked like 5 time's... I had no idea there's a name for some guy in a Headshop commercial, but the only word's I could conjure up, were... regular...
  8. <- - - > the quandary is saving $87... from 1300 or 2200, , so the formula is now 1300 to spend, whereas 300 for a quality tv would suffice, so $87 saved by Amazon would contribute to the demise of your mom & pop tv appliance store in your town, whereas, in 8-10 year's, when this new tv dissolves, you'll be facing the same question, only to trust the on-line supply available, delivered by a robot drone... but in a scenario less then far, from Halloween, the trend for TV will change, no doubt, and holograms beamed into sunglasses may be your choice in the future you make, with this single frugal flat panel.... unless you add craigslist to your search, for an old fashion MCM 50's console model, with tube's, that you can readily service... trick or treat...
  9. .. this is still listed... I looked again today, actually thinking my interest scale eval might of increased by a few point's...
  10. … just wanted to add one more consideration - travel mode from the store to your house (or delivery and installation charges), weight, size, type of transport vehicle, and help hanging it on the wall, if picking it up yourself....
  11. I am pleased with my LED TV, I got a Walmart vizio D-series (non-smart) 43" - and just use OTA in Garland https://www.vizio.com/d43ne1.html note: you could buy 5 of these, for the price of one large whooper TV.
  12. . o O (offer 4 pages on the internet) with a buffet
  13. here's a post from last year about the k55-v (nice picture in there) https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/168535-k55v-dual-phase-plug/
  14. 2018 SEMA show teaser ➡️ 2019-Mopar-Ram-1500-Big-Horn-Low-Down-Concept
  15. Check an auto supply store, they have double ended studs, 1/4-20 on one end, 1/4-28 on the other - 1.25 in length - just use a fine thread nut on the 1/4-28 side... if you get the all thread rod, it's easy to trim, just need a vise and a hack saw, screw a nut on the shaft to hold it in the vise, and a quick file to clean up. finally screw the nut off and clean the threads as you observe your handy work !
  16. Fender Custom Amp's got me hooked when I had to have a 3 color sunburst Woody Blues Jr Tube Amplifier… saw it, bought it, that quick.... This Blue Heresy should sell easily... Thanks Joe, I'll pass, but will be inclined to mention it over beer tonight...
  17. day 2… thinking about Eldon's' Expedition... factoring in the 15 drink limit... I figure that he found the engine room and adjusted the governors then worked his way around to find the captain to see if he could drive... oh... then taking the grill's off the lounge speakers on the way back to the pool....
  18. sobering cable decision solved over the weekend... I've listened to my '54 Klipschorn for 6 months, and... given the museum thoughts about preservation, restoration, and conservation... retrieved my screwdriver and installed a Bob Crites Type A after seeing my granddaughter and son cringe while listening to my old speaker with a 65 yr old crossover.... and man oh man, life restored, I am in total shock and awe with the combination of harmonics through the Stephens 15 incher, K-5-J and University SA-HF and 4401 tweeter... The old crossover is going into a glass case inside the Dining Room Hutch... the black electrical tape was my method of ensuring the strange L1 and L2 University driver polarity choice would survive... note: no new holes drilled into the top hat and just an oak & felt stabilizer block resting under the front edge...
  19. 2 second (maximum observation threshold) pattern test... test instructions - time limit 2 seconds, then return with the answer - was there a car?
  20. rip 2003 Natalia, but the raven, from Edgar Allan Poe.... ""Presently my soul grew stronger; hesitating then no longer, “Sir,” said I, “or Madam, truly your forgiveness I implore; But the fact is I was napping, and so gently you came rapping, And so faintly you came tapping, tapping at my chamber door, That I scarce was sure I heard you”—here I opened wide the door;— Darkness there and nothing more.""
  21. 👀 Very Nice Piano, I watched one of the follow up video's on the utube screen which followed, where a Brazilian pianist had a stuck pedal, and the stage hands rolled her piano to the stage elevator, and she kept playing the entire time, even while she went under the stage, and didn't seem to miss a note moving to a better piano and coming back up on stage, on the elevator platform, rolling over to the middle of the stage, still playing.... incredible also ...
  22. … since I saw that album cover a little while ago, I was searching for Norah Jones, little did I know the Car's, but should of figured lol, but still, is that Phoebe Cates then...
  23. To our infamous cruise crew partakers, and nevertheless, those too, in circular expeditions...
