  1. Great; thanks a lot. But ... have heard some negative comments on this driver. Have not been able to find a frequency chart Anyone? Thanks, Emile
  2. Hi Dude, Yeah, had seen some negative comments on the K-691's (in comparison to the B&C's). Not sure why ... Have heard good reports on the Faital drivers ... but ... they are 1.4 inch drivers not "true" 2 inches. Mismatch or ??? (Haha, a very long term and very outstanding member just offered me a pair for $400 ) Thanks, Emile
  3. Yeah ... frequency chart looks nice and flat Not sure what woofer to use yet ... probably will "test" them on top of my Cornwall's with a steep electronic crossover at 500/600/??. Thanks, Emile
  4. Haha ... bump ... anyone on Selenium drivers?
  5. It's awesome Put in a Marantz 2238B and an Oppo DVD player (with the Rf-3 horns/woofers). Highly recommend a project like this ... great for a "small" room like my "Florida room /lanai." Still have to put some finishing touches on it ... just got some 1" corner moulding shipped from HomeDepot ... haha; 8 ft box, free shipping. (Only because I bought $400 of wood from them to fix my front porch ... Jeez; could have done this job in 2 days 20 years ago ... bit older now ... going on day 5 and only 50% done ) Cheers, Emile OK; BACK TO DRIVERS PLEASE
  6. Awesome ... but anyone for opinions on drivers ... especially the "cheap" Selenium D3300Ti ones? Haha; you figured it out ... yes; I am "cheap." Correction "frugal."
  7. Poster board ... EXCUSE ME ... genuine kevlar Yes, was fun building these transducer speakers ... just not much response below 200Hz ... will have to play some more with them before throwing them in the trash Cheers, Emile
  8. Haha ... guy I talked to at Klipsch did not even know what "horns" were . The pair I ordered were Klipsch part number 131027. They showed 3 in stock ... sorry only 1 left now. NO CLUE if they have mumps, etc Hey, for $19 each I'll take my chances and see what arrives FYI; "he" told me there were 3 different models of this horn available ... painted, ?? and ?? So they should have more Cheers, Emile
  9. Haha ... YES. Last one listed "here" was $125 for a "used" one. Cheers, Emile
  10. Hi All, Finally getting some extra K-510 horns ... see story in footnote Have a set of KPT-904's with the K-510 horns with B&C DE75 drivers. Absolutely awesome; so wanted another set to play with Planning on using my miniDSP to set cutoffs in conjunction with Forte's or Cornwall's. OK; horns are on the way from Klipsch. Whoopie Tried finding B&C DE75 drivers and found a couple for $200++. Seems this is and old model, superseded by the B&C DE750TN (? comments ?). See https://www.parts-express.com/bc-de750tn-8-2-titanium-horn-driver-8-ohm-4-bolt--294-615?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=pla&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIzpuD6bK23gIVR57ACh0RjQwPEAQYASABEgLL9vD_BwE . Not sure I want to spend $277 each (Haha; I'm down 20% in the market due to great stocks like Apple, Amazon, Facebook and Netflix watching my pennies .) Also found Selenium D3300Ti drivers at Parts Express. https://www.parts-express.com/selenium-d3300ti-dpd-2-titanium-horn-driver-4-bolt--299-2319 . On paper these seem just as good (or better) as the B&C drivers ... and only $139 each Very tempted, but was hoping for some advise. Anyone with experience on these ... or opinions ... or other suggested drivers? Appreciate your input. Thanks and Cheers, Emile Note: Been trying to get a second set of K-510's for months now without any luck. Read some old threats and found that Klipsch does sell the 501 horns in Canada From various discussions, "understood" that Klipsch USA does NOT sell these WITHOUT drivers. So, ordered a set from the Ontario distributor at $65 each. (Thought it was a good buy since the last "single" 510 on this forum was listed for $125.) Then was told they (contractually) cannot ship to the US. Tried to get some friendly Canadian to "transship" these to me for a $50 bonus No "biters" yet. So, just for the hell of it called Klipsch. YES; "no problem;" we have 3 in stock ... $19 each. HAHA; was willing to spend $200 for a pair Ordered them and they should be on the way Even if I get the B&C drivers for them, I should have much less $$ in a pair vs buying them "direct" for about $750 each.

    What I Got Today!

I have NO clue Just ordered them ... guy I talked to at Klipsch was "clueless." (Had to explain what a "horn" was ) Will let you know when I get them Add-on ... not even sure I am getting the right part ... haha, $19 each

    What I Got Today!

These are K-510 horns. Was told by many that Klipsch USA DOES NOT sell these by themselves ... only WITH drivers at about $750 each. So, thought I might have to go "through" Canada. Well' called Klipsch direct and "no problem." Ordered a pair and hopefully the right parts are on the way to me. Thanks All for the help! Cheers, Emile

    What I Got Today!

OK; found some Klipsch horns from an Ontario distributor. Ordered them, but they will NOT ship to the US. Any "good Canadians" who could receive this package (pretty small, about 8 pounds and maybe 12x12x18") and ship it to Florida? Will of course pay for shipping ... plus an extra $50 for the "hassle." Put it in a thread earlier, but no replies. Anyone? Thanks, Emile
  16. OK; strange request, but let me explain Found some Klipsch horns at an Ontario distributor (Gentec Int'l, Markham, On, L3R 9X6 ). Pretty sure the item is NOT available from Klipsch USA. Will double check tomorrow with Klipsch. However, this distributor WILL NOT ship to the US Hoping to find a "good Canadian" who would be willing to receive the package from the Ontario distributor and then ship it to me in Florida. (Should be a fairly small package ... prob 7 pounds and 8x12x12".) Will of course fully reimburse you for shipping ... and an extra $50 for the trouble Many, many thanks! Cheers, Emile
  17. Adults drool over it; kids don't Awesome amp ... wish I had room for it
  18. Yes; price is pretty high, but they look awesome Have 3 Heresy I's and tried H II's and III's in my house ... contrary to popular believe I did not hear much of a difference So, you would pay an extra $300 for a pristine pair Yes, you might loose $300 if you sell them next year ... Big deal Go get them! Cheers, Emile
  19. Welcome to the forum I suggest going the vintage amp road. You can find a nice Yamaha CR-620 for about $150 ... or a better CR-1020 for about $350. Or look for a Kenwood ... usually "underpriced" but with pretty good sound. I prefer Marantz, but they have been getting more and more expensive ... Check your local CraigsList and OfferUp so you can hear the amp before handing over your money. Good luck with the search
  20. OK; you've got me "sold." Found one on FleaBay ... entering a bid
  21. Haha ... much "over the top" Still learning
  22. Sorry, but think "trading up" is a lot of fun Pretty hard to select Jubes/MCM's as a "beginner." Went from KG's to Heresy's, Forte's, Cornwall's, KPT-904's etc. The "journey" was very enjoyable. Cheers, Emile
  23. Hi Boriso, Welcome to the forum! Had KG4's with a 30W/ch Marantz 1060 (actually I think they put out at least 40W/ch). Really great! But don't know how "low" you can go. OK; I like to blast myself out of the room The KG4's are efficient, but not up to Heritage standards. Tried them with a Bob Latino 25W/ch Dynaclone, but just not enough output (for me). Since you said you had a "large" room, I think a 1 Watt tube amp will never be enough. Suggesting a vintage amp ... many can be bought for $100-$700 ... with more than enough power (if you ever want to "turn it up.") FYI, got a Marantz 2252B (52W/ch) for $550 a year ago ... and a Yamaha CR620 (35W/ch) for $100 and a Kenwood (40W/ch) for $200 And, BTW, most tube amps only have "ONE" input ... if you have more components you either have to "manually switch" them or buy an RCA switch box. Cheers, Emile
