  1. Keith, my situation pales in comparison to yours my friend. I cannot begin to tell you how sorry I am that you and your loved ones are going through this. I sincerely wish you the best and will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Thanks for taking the time for the encouraging words, it does help.

    FEED ME !!

    Very, very nice!
  3. I was diagnosed with stage one, early onset Parkinson's in October of 2015. First I have shared of this on the Forum. For the most part my main symptom is resting tremor in the left hand. It has also slightly slowed some of my movements, balance is off just a touch and sometimes I do not swing my arms when I walk and I get a little fatigued in the afternoon. Not too bad yet. Anyway, I hope this is not the case but does anyone else here have this disease? Would you care to share?
  4. They are passive, 2-band, mono equalizers. Made by a company called Eckmiller in Germany if memory serves.
  5. Thanks John. Already had my R1 & R2 values nailed down and was about ready to order. Just decided to check and see about completed devices first. A pair of L-pads from Al are pretty reasonable, clean and would save me time.
  6. Hey Craig! How the Hell are ya ole Buddy? Schu, I have had three pair of VRD's, I know them well. You will NEVER be disappointed!
  7. Anyone have any laying around they can part with? I will take either type(L-pad or transformer)for now. Just need to knock down some JBL 2404H to see if they will work once levels are matched. Then I will go from there. Thanks.
  8. The pair I am working on now, beaters...
  9. No write-ups. I do however try to maintain progress on my restorations/builds through photos. I have not kept all of them, but I think I still have photo files on two pairs of La Scala, three pairs of Heresey, one pair of Belle, two pair of Cornwall and two pair of Klipschorn. I am in the middle of one of the pair of Klipschorn(bass bins only)as we speak. I have enclosed the backs on this pair only. My last completely restored Khorns started life as a pair of B Style WL and ended up as Rosewood. Just a couple shots:
  10. Thanks Jim. The label background maintains the current look unless I change it which is nice. Most of the time I change to white so they look clean, crisp and brand new like the cabinets they usually go on look. Laser print on heavy, adhesive backed label stock cut to original size. Most of the time the labels are in far worse shape like these which were from a pair of 1968 B Style Lacquered Walnut Khorns that I restored about 15 years ago. This set took me more than two days to get just right.
  11. Just something I enjoy doing along with a Heritage refurb/restoration. Do it every pair. Usually the finishing touch but I knocked this pair out upfront instead. Not hard thanks to some editing software but can be time consuming depending on the damage. This set belongs to a pair of 1970 K-D-FB Bass cabinets that were beat to Shite. Getting a full restore job including veneer and enclosed backs. Will put up another thread for that. When I am lucky and able to remove the labels intact using heat and a blade I throw them on my scanner. However if I begin to feel they are going to disintegrate I just take a photo and go from there. Prefer scanning of course. Anyway, no big deal just thought I would share. Before and after:
  12. Absolutely gorgeous! A tip of the hat Sir!

    VRDS Sold

Maybe I need to get out more but the Iron on those is just gorgeous. And as if VRD's are not Azz heavy enough with the stock Iron. Lol! I only wish I could make this pair my third. I envy the person that grabs them. GLWS.
  14. I have La Scalas in a 10x12 right now and they sound fantastic. It can work.
  15. I generally try to incorporate some if not all of the guidelines of speaker placement contained in the link below. If for no other reason than valuable knowledge gained through experimentation. Recently used the info. to place my La Scalas and I am very pleased with the results. Even if your room is small like mine, give it a shot you may be surprised. YMMV. http://www.barrydiamentaudio.com/monitoring.htm
  16. What? No one else is going to shite on Greg and/or his products? You guys are too much man! Also, I am not one of them, however there ARE gentleman on this forum whom I have considerable reason to trust and respect that actually own the Rival and I am fairly certain they would beg to differ with all of you. Is the price point somewhat high? Maybe, maybe not. Who is to say, but that certainly is not our call. If you are crapping on them just because they do not have a Klipsch badge on them then that is BS too. I find the sanctimonious holier than thou attitude on this forum hard to tolerate anymore. Would any of you like to see these kinds of comments directed at you or your product if you were in Greg's shoes? I highly doubt it. Show some frickin' respect! This from a guy who bought his first pair of Klipsch 43 years ago this month and who has never owned any other brand and never will.
  17. Home brew? What does that mean in this instance? And you have heard them and feel they are not "balanced and smooth"?
  18. Ah yes, my other hobby.....
  19. NO Salt! Not a fan of cold pizza either. There, I said it!
