  1. Living on a lake in the Pacific Northwest requires you to enjoy birds. We have birds, lots of birds. But in early fall we get some migratory birds. Also in spring and fall we have a pair of eagles that visit daily. Their size is amazing and their presence commands respect. They are the largest birds we get here, except for the odd swan (maybe). Here are a few pictures, one of the eagles and another of a snow goose, not our typical goose fare.
  2. Hmmmm....... Ever watch America’s Funniest Home Videos? My reaction here is the same when I watch AFV and see videos of people attempting perilous feats and failing just not enough to harm themselves - so it is funny. Well I worked acute care for decades and got to see the multitudes of times when Lady Luck/guardian angel was not available to catch the hapless thrill seeker. Egads!! Just so ya know it is not just motorcycles. It is insane the risks some people accept in the name of a good time. Just be safe. These sorts of crashes gone wrong are big time, life altering owies. Sorry to be a downer here but I care about you folks and those you care about.
  3. Your observation looks to be correct. Still, back then I am sure the artwork was cut and paste collage style for this layout and the 2 Heresy’s were of slightly different sizes to begin with. The fact remains that the Klipsch heritage lineup had no additional offerings at that time.

    Cell Phones

ATT with Samsung and IPhone. Got rid of Verizon and T-Mobile due to insulting customer service. I am somewhat rural and service can be sketchy at times and it worsens when we travel further into the wilds. There are areas by me that have zilch service from any provider. Sounds like you may reside adjacent to a dead zone.

    F22 Raptor

I enjoyed many air shows until my last formal show. Watched a guy misgauge a loop and plow his vintage Sabre jet into the tarmac. He did not survive. Sorta puts life in a different focus. Today we’ll visit the WW2 aircraft that annually stop in this region. Oddly I work at the Bird Aviation Museum but only to cover their collection of Dr. Birds respirators. But they have many vintage planes to see. Dr. Bird died about 10 years ago. His widow went flying with an associate 6 months later and their plane crashed killing both. Personally I prefer terra firma.
  6. Just took a walk around the block. Saw houses set up with these chutes and others who put up portable fence barriers to keep safe distances. Some energetic and creative folks. Happy to see that the kids will have some fun.
  7. Sadly we won’t be accommodating Halloween 🎃 this year either. Too many in our community are intellectually challenged and many determine their own public health policies. We have no kids of our own and will just keep quiet and dark. This saddens us greatly as Halloween is one of our favorite events. Love to see the costumes and all the fun. Hopefully all will be more normal next year.
  8. Passed on at age 90. Needless to say I am shaken, not stirred.
  9. The Haunting..... the 1999 version
  10. I had one of these back in the 90’s. I also had the wall sconces that were part of the same collection. Nice set up. Be safe and keep up the good work.
  11. You’re overthinking the situation. There’s good reason for the skulls to have been collected and kept and no indications of foul play. Keep em, get rid of em or study them - whatever floats the boat. But end the burgeoning guilt trip. Nobody’s done anything wrong.
  12. If there’s a downside to stained glass it is that pictures simply cannot do the medium justice. The glass itself can approach mystical character. Some pieces change appearances depending on the light levels. Stained glass lifts a persons mood. Not so sure about Rocky and his moose friend and we don’t need tax deductions.
  13. We’ve had this freak fall snow storm and some bitter temps too. It’ll all be gone soon. Last winter we had a thaw event in January. The weather is getting testy for sure. The Mrs. has been doing stained glass for many years and I’m a quick study. For me it’s only been about 2 years. We’ve learned to do some skills differently and that allows us to cut some really close pieces. I’d say I am more of a technician than an artist. But I’m good at it.
  14. Another stained glass project. We do holiday theme stuff. This years Christmas deal is an elk.
  15. Thanks for the overview. Now for me who has not been programming since age 16 what you needed to do would’ve buried me. I know tons of really important stuff but I am way down low on the digital food chain. Even with your knowledge you felt the need to hardwire the digital connection. For me it is all voodoo magic. It all works predictably fine until it doesn’t. It is not the wires, they are all connected where they should be, the same as when everything actually operated. It is something gone awry in the ‘magical’ part of the streamer or the WiFi or the service provider or something else from the planet Mars. For me, for now..... it is just unreliable and not under my control. Like yourself I do appreciate the nature of the music service. But from them to my ears it is all ‘Bibbity-boobity-boo’.
  16. I (for one) would appreciate your opinions on the ‘user’ friendliness of the device. Earlier this year I added a Marantz na6006 digital streamer to my 2 channel system. I consider myself somewhat intelligent but struggled with the terminology, technology and an illogical operations manual that may as well have been written in cursive Cyrillic. The digital world in all of its applications must deploy clearer instructions IMHO. If the end user can not obtain the best use of their digital devices it makes little difference how well they ‘can’ work.

    Jokes?

This won’t do well in a serious rainstorm........
  18. Just read that Spencer Davis passed at 81 y/o. Another great contributor and another great loss.

    Jokes?

Do you guys keep drill bits you know are dull and burnt out? Like you I have lots of drill bits and do not use them regularly. When I do it is typically just a few sizes and then used for 1 time small jobs. Even though these olde bits ‘suck’ as bits they keep the drill kit ‘complete’ and I just know for sure that there’s one more good hole to be had.
  20. Well if I had $$$$ to burn there are some extraordinary high dollar horn speakers I’d readily splurge on..... used, if I could find them. But honestly if I could blow this much cash on a stereo I’d just buy new product. New house. New car(s)..... etc. See Avantgarde-Acoustics for my new system.

    Jokes?

Rather this than the plumber with schizophrenia.....
  22. Thorium is the better choice. Cheaper, safer, just as clean and can be tailored to need. We could have these already but the large utility business fears its simplicity and efficiency.
  23. These units are on back order per medifyair, due to covid19. Looks ideal.
  24. We use some 3M allergen filter in the HVAC but this time of the year we rarely employ that system. Long ago I had some dealings with Farr Industries. They made industrial grade air filtration systems. They also had a few domestic sized products and were trying to enter the portable room sized market. It was interesting stuff back then. Their entire plant was completely void of dust. At the time I didn’t realize the health benefits as much as I do now. I imagine you can still buy centralized systems that’ll keep your entire home dust free... but they’ll be pricey.
