  1. The Jolida CD-100 is $900. I think it has a variable analog output. Not positive, but it has two pair of analog outputs. Many mods available for later. It seems like most 5-disc changers have variable outputs like the Denon CDM380 (I think this is the model number). It's only 299. It may be noisy when changing discs. The only other choices have been mentioned.
  2. Very nice. If this is something you like to do you, you could make a little money on the side doing work like that.

The addition of the academy to my Fortes really filled out the sound of my HT, and in my opinion was well worth the price I paid a few months ago. Ultimately I want to obtain an oiled oak academy to match my mains, but at $900-$1000 apiece, I might be better off finding a shop to replace the veneer on my black one LOL ---------------- I am glad you like. It was in great shape. I wanted to do the $900 thing back then, but I did not have the conscious to do it. I had alway said that I would not sell it, but whoa how things change. I have seen several pair of black Forte II for sale since then. My Forte II are oak. My next move will be a Ref HT or better yet Khorns.
  4. If you update your profile, your signature will be affected. At least this is what happened to me. My test post went fine. I then add the same info to my system profile. Now my signature is plain text. Well, it will have to do for now until changes are finished.

With confidence of not being contradicted, I can unequivocally say the following: 1) The "sticky" at the top of the forum had nothing to with anything going on with the 2-channel forum. 2) Klipsch has absolutely no problem with Al, Craig, or myself -- promoting services (that Klipsch does not provide) -- specifically designed and geared towards enhancing the Klipsch listening experience. 3) "They" watch the forum closer than we think. If there is a problem with "us" -- they'll let us know. ---------------- 1. This is good to hear. 2. In my experience, you guys provide a valuable service. 3. Communicate to those you have a problem with. This is good. BTW - Bring back the Cornwall, Forte II, Chorus II and Academy. You are missing out on sales $.
  6. Yes, it is outrageous. I say so what. If they are willing to pay, then let them pay. You see this all the time. I sold my Academy for $$$$ on eBay a few months ago. I know that if I wanted to get back into HT I would be better served by the Ref line of speakers. Live and let live. Just imagine - someone is buying a million dollar home and a $100,000 car right now. A $900 speaker is no big deal to them.
  7. It looks great. I was testing my signature also, but I guess it did not work out that well. Oops. Fixed sig

But the klipsch seem to thrive on bass notes and i've yet to find a track thats able to challenge my horns or lascalas. Worse yet i'm running a pair of phase coupled activators ( digital bass restoration units) they can and will extend your driver right to it's limit and then some. Don't believe me then try finding a used series III ( the best of the 3 ) phased coupled activator made by audio control. You won't believe the bass untill you've heard one of these babys put a load on your system. ---------------- I could not agree more about the phased coupled activator. I bought mine back in '91, and I have been using it every since. I use it with the Forte II, and it sounds something special. It is a great piece for someone who likes a bass kick.
  9. I need to replace a tweeter in one of my KG4s. I plan on using them as the mains in my HT with an Academy center. Shoudl I replace both KG4 tweeters (K-74-K) with the same tweeter from the Academy (K-76-KV)? Or, should I put the KG4 tweeter in all three speakers? Or, should I just replace the KG4 tweeter and leave the Academy alone? Cost is not a factor in my decision.
  10. How much are you willing to spend? What has a higher priority: audio or movies? An amp-preamp/processor is usually more expensive when compared to a similar a/v receiver. I prefer the a/v receiver. I like NAD with my heritage speakers. I do not know how NAD amps go with the newer Ref models.
  11. The Chorus II and Forte II would work equally well. I have the Forte II. I chose them years ago (1992) over the Chorus II because I liked the bass response better.
  12. How about: New and improved Promedia 2.1 The original is great, but ... Bring back my personal favorite, the Forte II. Bring back the RP5 Market some factory tested mods for Heritage series owners Heritage series subs and center channels Three-way RF7 (tweeter and mid horn with two 10" woofers, maybe even tri-wire/amp capable) I like the table-top radio idea. My Tivoli Audio radio is good, but ... How about new model line with a price point between the Heritage and Ref series?
  13. It all depends. I would think 12" would be the minimum. If you listen to music on your HT, I would say get a Klipsch sub (preferably reference model). They respond equally well to both music and movies. If you just watch movies and tv on your HT and you really like bass or listen at high levels, I would recomend the SVSubwoofers. I would get the Ultra. If price sensitive, then get the 20-39CS+. Just my opinion, I am sure there are others.
  14. I would try the Klipsch parts department first. Parts Department Phone Number: 317-860-8100 Toll Free: 800-274-5547 Fax Number: 317-860-9195 E-mail: parts@klipsch.com If they did not have it, I would try a local dealer that is authorized to repair Klipsch speakers. For example, in Atlanta, Tweeter has a central office where they test and repaired equipment. They may have the spare part. Next, I would look on ebay. And finally, you could temporarily replace it with non-Klipsch radiator until you find the right one.
  15. A sub is a nice thing to have, but don't rush it. How big is you HT room? What are your listening levels? Have house or apartment? How much money to spend?... I would recommend the CS-Ultra. At least, this is what I want. I have a NAD 2600A that would push it nicely. I had the 25-31CS. I was impressed. I thought the walls were gonna come down during the pod scene from Episode I.
  16. I usually do not post, but I just have to two my two cents in... The Academy is a great center channel with my Forte II. If I did not have one, I would not pay the eBay prices of late. I would opt for the closest match from the reference line.
  17. I think you can only get it from Klipsch.com. I have looked as well. I cannot find another site.
  18. For me, Aragon is out of my price range. I do not know anyone with that brand. It probably fills a niche market.
  19. I would recommend an SVS subwoofer. I owned a 25-31 CS for a while, and it was great. For a large room, I would recommend the CS-Ultra. It rocks.
  20. I am thinking about this set up: Go digital out from soundcard to the DD5.1 2.1 as my center channel 4.1 as front and rear channels SWS as my sub using 60 Hz crossover point This would be a nice 5.1
  21. I understand. I thought about selling my Black Academy many times. Here lately, I do not even have my HT set up. I am currently in an apartment, and the HT is simply too much for the sound levels that I like. I like it loud. I need a new monitor, also. I did not realize what I had until I looked around in the forum. Now, I cannot imagine selling my Forte and Academy. I would surely regret it.
