  1. That's the hard part, i just went through the same thing. I got some of the wood filler that is pre stained the color I wanted, well it's not even close. So I mixed some of the dark filler with regular white/tan colored until I thought I was close. Then I tried some on a piece of scrap and let it dry. it dried a little different, so I stained it to see how it would look compared to the natural wood, I then adjusted the mix of the two fillers until i could get as close as possible. After I got as close as I could I put the mixed filler in a zip lock baggie to keep it from drying out until I finished with that project which was about a month. Just squeeze the air completely out of the baggie and if starts to get a little thick just add a tiny bit of water to get it back to the right texture. It NEVER looks just like the wood because of lack of grain but you can get as close as possible with the color, you could always try to mark the filled part with something to fake a matching grain, good luck ! If there is an easier way to match the color or grain, someone please let us know, I could use an easier way !
  2. The way it really works is Carlos makes most of the money and pays his workers by the hour or day. Either way the price is the same, Carlos is probably saving up for a Klipsch RF line HT ! []
  3. Yea that's what i want to know, if Behr is cheap what is a good paint ?
  4. " If that's middle class, then I must be dirt poor. " Well Hifi Jim we are so poor we bought dirt 12 years ago and are still paying on it !
  5. Sounds like it's going to make the shop alot more useful. If Carlos did a good job last time why take a chance with someone else, that's about the same price for concrete as it is here.
  6. You could take the back off and check what it says where it comes off the crossover, it will be marked there. Then trace and put your own mark on the outside, it's very important to have them both the same. Congratulations, they don't look that bad at all.
  7. Bob sure knows how to have a birthday, he makes a week out of it ! [<)] [Y]
  8. I agree 100% with Dee, I have not heard the KG3.5's but I know what the HK 930 sounds like with the forte ll, the 730 should be right there with it . As long as you don't overpay for the forte ll's you could always get your money back by selling, but you won't want to !
  9. I think if JC changes his mind we have someone who is interested, just a wild guess who that could be ? Mark I am going to stay out of that one ! [:|] That have a name for that and they say it's very very expensive. [:#]
  10. The only problem with a Peach or Blueberry is they are no longer made, not good if some one wanted the same setup. I am glad there is going to be a room setup for the Palladium's, that would be nice for all of the better lines, let BB and others handle the entry level models. Everyone knows how hard, if even possible it is to find someplace to listen that to set up even decent.
  11. Reverse Osmosis is very pure water, but I believe it still has the minerals, Distilled I believe has no minerals. It's cheap enough by the gallon, it's also very good for cloths irons or anything where you don't want the mineral deposits to build up. I could be wrong, that seems to happen alot !
  12. Isn't that a contradiction... A small cabin with a basement? j/k, I hope you know.Bruce A small cabin about 600-800 sf with a 2000sf basement ! [] I don't know really, just kidding I should stay out of this, we caused enough problems already. []
  13. That looks like a good quality stripper Fini ! [Y]

  15. [] They are dusty, they look better in person, the date on the camera is off a little.
  16. Back home now, went to pick them up and had to wait a while for other people to load there JUNK so I could get the best part of the whole auction loaded. drove back and put them in the storage unit. The storage unit is now FULL, I have some kitchen cabinets from somewhere that are taking up way to much space. I am/was holding the cabinets for a X son in law, he wanted them so he is going to be given the last chance to get them,I will take them to my house and he can pick them up here or they will become ash. My camera is in the shop, so I will find another one around here and try to get some pic's posted this evening or Saturday. They are BIG, and HEAVY, there are no handles on the bass bins, that does not help. We used a dolly with 4 wheels covered with a blanket to move them , it really went better than I thought it would. There was a ramp where we picked them up from so I just backed up to it until the dovetail on my trailer was on the ramp. We then used a piece of 3/4" plywood on the dovetail because it's grating and angle iron, we just rolled them right up into the trailer and put them on blankets, plenty of blankets to cover a space that big, they take up most of a 20' trailer.
  17. Thank you Daddy Dee, but without JC buying them they would still be there, they would have had to go real cheap for me to get them, I am glad JC wanted them.
  18. Almost forgot, Thanks Sheltie Dave for finding and then helping the idea disappear [] Jc got some monsters and we got a steal on a pair of new RB 75's, Thank You for starting this.
  19. You can trust me, I think I am a little scared of them, at close to 8' tall ! I don't think you would want to tape that, taping it may make it worse, you never know she may love them ! [] You may want to go straight to storage with them.
  20. The 4 bins are done, I just need to get the 4 drivers for them and amp and pre amp to power them with, as soon as they are done i will put some pic's. They are tiny compared to JC's monsters ! []
  21. Going to pick up JC's speakers in the morning, with a big trailer. Christy's brother and I will go get them, at 526 lbs per side it's going to be fun, JC I will not put any scratches on them I will be very careful. If you don't know what these look like........ http://www.klipsch.com/products/details/kpt-mcm-4-t-grand.aspx She also got a steal on some new RB 75's, I opened the boxes and put them in the bedroom and connected them to the HK 930 ( unplugged the Cornwalls). They sound really good, but the Cornwalls will be reconnected permanently, the Heritage line just ruined me.
  22. I was thinking the same thing, nice pictures Amy. You don't think much of the pictures when there being taken but many years later they are something special, your lucky to have them.
