Invidiosulus
$35 can buy. Picked up an old Craftsman tablesaw last weekend for $35. Put a new Belt and Blade on it and it's working great.
JJkizak
The one wing is missing and the handwheel is bent. I think the blade is worth more than the saw. These things are on craigs list every day for more saw about the same money. Not a deal. JJK
Invidiosulus
I don't live near cleveland so my craigslist offerings are a bit different than yours.Locally for me the only things that have been even close in price are Delta, Ryobi, and newer Craftsman saws that have plastic bases, aluminum tables, are direct drive and don't have induction motors. Tarheel
Nice find. What are the wood horns on the bench?
Invidiosulus
Nice find. What are the wood horns on the bench? Something with about a 5" throat based on a tractrix expansion.
Tarheel
Did you build those (nice work)? Have a plan in mind for them?
Invidiosulus
Thanks, Been working on them off and on for the last week. I was inspired after reading Bruce Edgars midrange horn article. Planning on trying them out with a Galaxy audio 5" cone driver, a Bob Crites tweeter for the top end and my Heresy lack of bass bins for the bottom. Marvel
I thought they were some new kind of wooden hat... Very clever how you had those in the background shot of your saw, btw. Just waiting to see if anyone noticed... [*-)]
Invidiosulus
I'm gonna need some bigger horns if I'm gonna wear them as a hat.

Moderators dtel Posted September 7, 2009 Moderators Share Posted September 7, 2009 Nice looking horns ! Make you a table to go around that saw, nothing fancy just to give more support when cutting. AND WATCH YOUR FINGERS

Invidiosulus
My fingers are "precious to me". And you can just barely see in the first pic the hearing protection up on the shelf on the left. My shooting glasses were still on my face when I took the pic. Groomlakearea51
Nice!! If you build a table to go around it, consider a "fence" so you can do some accurate cutting. Fences can be expensive, but.... you can make one from a piece of straight aluminum stock, a piece of wood (2 x 4) and just use clamps to pin it down. Figure $20 for the aluminum piece, some screws, etc.
Invidiosulus
somewhere around here i've got some sketches for a homemade t square style fence. or as you say just a piece of angle iron and some clamps.

jacksonbart
That is the best $35.00, even perhaps the best $36.00 table saw I have ever seen.
