@radiogram. I'm not certain measuring the inductors in circuit will work because of the topology, but I'll give it a try.

Measure across the inductors and the measurements should be accurate if you have a good inductor measurer on a circuit as simple as a crossover network. Unhook from speakers if you choose to.

@mustang_flht Thank you for the information on the D Crossover replacement Cap values. I went ahead and ordered the kit from JEM and have installed them. On another note, given that these Heresy Is are 1975 vintage, can I assume that the diaphragms and gaskets for the midrange and tweeters should also be replaced?

I had the following experience with my 1977 LaScala. The diaphragm of the K55V driver had changed in sound (as I suspected before the replacement diaphragm and could hear clearly afterwards). The diaphragm had hardened and another member here had the same experience posted and measured in this forum 10 years ago. The old diaphragm reproduces the lower frequency range below approx. 1200 Hz too quietly. With the new original Atlas diaphragm, the K400 sounds more powerful, rounder, softer and less peaky.
The tweeter was slightly different in my case. The original diaphragm is wonderfully intact to this day. But the Alnico magnet had weakened. A specialist company remagnetised my K77 over a year ago. It resulted in a plus of 1.5 dB and correspondingly more highest frequencies.

As long as your original K77 diaphragms are running, please leave them in. Anything you can get today is worse than the originals. Maybe this will change again in the future.

@net-davidI measured the inductors in my CW III network. Pretty straight forward. That is how I was able to post the CW III network. But just to be very sure I de-soldered one terminal of each inductor and then measured to avoid any interference from any component that me may be connected to the inductor in parallel.

BTW, it seems to me in K53 circuit you posted, the three parallel caps should be in series between the inductor and resistor and the capacitor you have shown to be in series between the inductor and resistor should be parallel to the K53. Can you re-check this?

Thanks

I have a pair of Epic CF-2 That I had set aside for a few years in a closet, and I hooked them up this week and I while I am playing music on them I hear what sounds like static/distortion on both speakers. I tried 2 different known good receivers and the problem doesn't change. I have tried an analog rca connection from and iPad and casting Spotify. Are both of my cross overs toast? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I did some quick and dirty measurements of my Heresy III's crossover last night and I think I have all of the values now. By quick and dirty I mean I unscrewed the crossover but left all of the drivers connected, I could hear the 1kHz tone my B&K LCR meter uses through the speaker while testing. So I'm not really confident on the inductor values. I'm pretty sure of the C and R values, I got them off of the components. I've left the component numbers from Xsim on the schematic this time so we can discuss them easily. I think the topology is correct, I've gone back and double checked everything.

@net-davidAwesome. Thanks a Lot!. I just want you re-check this. Based on CWIII Xover it seems to me in the Woofer circuit, that the following 3 parallel caps C1, C2, C3 should be between L2 and R1 and C4 parallel to K28-E. If you look at the CW III Circuit I Posted in June 25th in Page 16, you will see why I am asking this.

Thanks and I do appreciate the efforts.

Cheers!

@net-davidWhat I am surprised is the amount of difference in the Mid Section particulalry between the between CW II and H III. They both use same drivers and same crossover points on either side. I thought only diff would be level matching L-Pad. But on my own experimentation with 3-dB L-Pad for CW III I could not get uniform 3dB attenuation in fact attenuation above 12Khz Started to increase and was about -4.5dB at 16Khz. So I am guessing that is why maybe Klipsch has different mid section network for H III vs CW III

@net-davidIt appears to be the first version as the date is Sep 2005. Could you tell me how to contact Trey Cannon so I can get circa 2009 schematics?

Thanks Again

Trey was who responded when I contacted Klipsch support through their website, the email was from support@klipsch.com .

Hi all, since I couldn't  find the crossover diagrams of my KG2 version 1 (without passive resonators) I disassembled mine, and have drawn them myself.

And felt a bit obligated to share this, so hereby a hand drawn diagram attached.

It's different from the KG2 version with resonator.

Hope someone else will be happy with it too.

Best regards

Thanks, I have a few pairs of these.  What is 15 E?

I need one of these porcelain whatchamacallits. Can anyone point me in the right direction in regards to where to purchase?.

Thanks in advance 🙂

Welcome, I removed  the google  photo link from your post, there was something  wonky with it. Just upload a photo of the whatxhamacallet and we can get you to the right place.
