Wow... A 2000W Vacuum Amplifier...

There was a threadon AudioKarma on this critter - it's a hybrid with some tube tone in the front end and SS power - and poor at that. And, as always, don't believe the 2kw rating.

A member actually bought one and tore it down, and had to reverse engineer grounding problems that resulted in audio noise.

Here's the thread: http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=303638&highlight=pyle&page=7 (linked to page 7 where the teardown and listening tests actually begin.)

It IS possible to get kilowatt audio amplification with tubes, it'd just take forty or more tubes of the KT88 class or a few ginormous power tubes with rediculous (dangerous) plate voltages.

Yea and it would heat a large auditorium and require it's own direct connection to the power gird [;)]

This amp looks like it should be sold from the rear of a white van !

YesYesYes

Speaking of the white van dudes, anyone seen them around lately?

Cool

I was approached by one of them about 2 months ago but they were in a red SUV. I guess they were trying to change the image a little.
