Morning Gang

Not much came in the mail yesterday, so NO work on the watercraft.

Today's deliveries should be good according to tracking.

60s to 70s for the next 8 days, so uncover the boat time.

Rest day(s) are over, after breakfast and Nap of course.

5 to -5 here for the next few days.

God I love winter!

I say,good afternoon. Just doing some outside stuff with the yard seeings how it will be warmer here soon enough. Expecting cold weather pretty darn near end of March, and a good frosty afterwards.

Not a weatherman though. Operating without a certification. 2 cups...darn near :emotion-44:  :emotion-44:

Afternoon Gang

Mail is in, and it looks like enough goodies to get started :smile:

Figures both Relay boards would show up at the same time, no biggie, i like spares.

The "Button" will, through the relay board control multi function(s) and in this project, voice and mechanical.

Could have built this using PLC control(s) but this critter needs to be reliable.

70s and Skeeters for the next week.

New Keyless drill press chuck arrived also, man after 20+ years, finely keyless on the shop press :emotion-21:

Hmmmm, not enough parts to figure out what's going on.  I see a couple small speakers but not sure how they'll be implemented.  Nice teaser.

Do not wish to Tease too much so here is the piece almost completed last week, still need the Wattco.

The piece laying on the bench below is what everyone should focus on, You can do amazing things with

Well, better get with the outdoors. Right now, nice sunny low temp days with nice collish 29-40ish temps morns.

Hooking up my RF3's this afternoon in my music room. Ha Ha, need to go to goodwill and craigs' to get in there.

Almost thinking now of keeping the KG's. They are nice for 2 channel at times. Oh well, what the hay having a cup of coffee.

Most I drank was in my early 20's. Five cups a day. I was a real chatty Kathy talking doll. No need to pull my cord, I was automated.

Coffee that is... :)  :emotion-44:  :emotion-44:  :emotion-44: today.

Well deet, that would be you or i, these farmers do not even Reg/Tag their boats, they ARE "the good ole Boys" nobody messes with the Dutch Farmers.

Dont know if i ever told anyone here of "Getting" to know them, it took TEN YEARS of being a nice guy to get invited to one of their BBqs, but once your in, your family.

Never need to worry about a meal or place to live and i extend the same to them.

Anything they own, just ask, yep good ole Boys.

This is yet another reason i go above and behond for their needs at my cost, no biggie. they, like me, just want to have fun......

 

Let me add a little P.S. to this that is still very much in effect in farm life today:

Last year im sittin on a farmers porch, sippin the good stuff, his girl comes home from school walks up to us and introduces him and i to her new boyfriend, my bud simply says, son i own a gun and a backhoe, do NOT give me a reason to use either. Yes sir.

Later i ask my Bud, kind of strong message there you gave that kid, no mark, i told the same thing to his father last week :o

I just read the thread about people looking for Klipsch badges and see all of what looks like OEM badges selling for a hundred bucks a pair on eBay.  

 

Got me thinking and I’m wondering if there was some serious salami slicing going on in the parts department a long time ago with all of these Klipsch copper badges always popping up on eBay for a hundred bucks a pair. 

 

Not all look like reproductions so while I had a few minutes before my next work assignment, I reworked an old Wayne Kemp song recorded by Johnny Cash.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

“An Ode to the Klipsch Copper Badge”

 

 

Well, I left Kentucky back in '49

An' went to Klipsch workin' on a 'sembly line

The first year they had me puttin' a badge on a speaker grill.

 

Every day I'd watch them beauties roll by

And sometimes I'd hang my head and cry

'Cause I always wanted me horns made of Rosewood Brazil.

 

 

 

One day I devised myself a plan  :emotion-55: 

That should be the envy of most any man

I'd sneak speakers out of there in a lunchbox in my hand.

 

Now gettin' caught meant gettin' fired

But I figured I'd have it all by the time I retired

I'd have me a 1,000 Klipsch worth at least a hundred grand.

 

 

 

I'd get em’ one piece at a time

And they wouldn't cost me a dime

You'll know it's me when the volume DON'T go down.

 

I'm gonna blast my music in style 

I'm gonna drive everybody wild

'Cause I'll have all the Klipsch there is in town.

 

 

 

So the very next day when I punched in

With my big lunchbox and with help from my friends

I left that day with a lunchbox full of tweets.

 

Now, I never considered myself a thief

Klipsch wouldn't miss just one little piece

Especially if I strung it out over a hundred weeks.  :ph34r2: 

 

 

 

The first day I got me some grill cloth

And the next day I got me some woofs, for behind that swath

Then I got me a speaker box, and all the veneer.

 

The little things I could get in my big lunchbox

Like wires, bolts, an’ horns, and lots of caulks

But the big stuff we snuck out in my buddy's Wagoneer.

 

 

 

Now, up to now my plan went all right

'Til we tried to put them all together one night

And that's when we noticed that something was definitely wrong.  :ohmy: 

 

The woofers were from ‘53

And the crossovers turned out to be ‘73

And when we tried to put in the bolts all the holes were gone.

 

 

 

So we drilled em’ out so that it’d all fit

And with a little help, from a RADIO SHACK A-DAPTOR KIT 

We had those drivers blasting out a song.  :emotion-29: 

 

Now the tweets were another sight

We had two on the left and one on the right

But when we flipped the switch all three of 'em come on.

 

 

 

The horns looked kinda funny too

But we put it together and when we got thru

Well, that's when we noticed that we only had ONE Klipsch name plate.  :wacko2: 

 

About that time my wife walked out

And I could see in her eyes that she had her doubts

But she turned on another song, and said "Honey, take me for a date."  :emotion-25: 

 

 

 

So we turned the music up as loud as it would go

Then brought out the BEER :emotion-22:  and Sloppy Joe

We could hear everybody partyin' for blocks around.

 

But up there at the police station, they didn't laugh

'Cause they could all hear the music, the whole staff

And when the shift was done they just asked, if they could PARTY DOWN.

 

 

 

I got my Klipsch one piece at a time

And they didn't cost me a dime

Well they’re '49, '50, '51, '52, '53, '54, '55, '56, '57 '58' 59' pair 'o' Klipsch,

They’re '60, '61, '62, '63, '64, '65, '66, '67, '68, '69, '70 pair 'o' Klipsch speaker horns…..

:o I drink more than that now, but I could see where that would be a lot with the energy of a 20 year old, it does not have that effect on me at 57, I drink coffee until I go to bed. :mellow:  :D
