RonW.
Hi, I thinking about adding a sub to my 2 channel stereo system along with my Cornwall II's. what got me to thinking about this was when listening to some Motley Crue music was the bass was really kicking in.... So what matches well with the CW II's? Thanks, Rw
derrickdj1
The Cornwalls are some big speakers. Nothing less than a 15 in. sub or 18 in. sub. Powering a sub with it own amp should give you more umph for the LF and the driver is not trying to produce frequencies over 200 Hz. should also add something to the bass. Scrappydue
What are your listening levels. I think you could get away with a smaller sub ONLY AT LOWER VOLUMES. If you get crazy then yes a 15 or 18 will be needed. Hsu uls 15. Psa xs-15 or xs-30. Svs sb-13 ultra. Or you can build a single sub of your own. Lots of options if you do that.
Pete H
For music with the Cornwalls I can tell you from experience that the RSW 15 blends and sounds wonderful for 2.1 listening. I would assume that the other RSW's would also but I only own 15's.

mustang guy
Anyone tried SW-115? There is a nice review thread or two on the SW-115. https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/136976-klipsch-sw-115-review/
Sancho Panza
Thank you; I've read that thread.
RonW.
Thanks for the replies.... Does the size of the sub need to match the size of the woofer I'm running, in my case CW II's? So do I need a 15" sub? Thanks, RonW.
jason str
To compete with your Cornwall's at higher volumes you're going to need at least one high output 15". A horn sub would be a good alternative to compliment your mains.
jcmusic
Ron, At the levels you listen to music at the bigger the sub the better, at the very least a sub with a 15" woofer is needed. Maybe two because of the size of your room...
RonW.
Yeah, I guess I should have mentioned the room size, 18'x26'. The Cornies are in the corners of the 18' wall toed in on center. My listening spot is approx. 18' on center. The room is pretty large, also it has a cathedral ceiling up to the second level so I'm not cramped in a small room with all this sound. So, yeah, Canyonman is right, I like to listen loud on occasions., well most of the time when the wifey is away. Thanks, RonW.
CECAA850
Canyonman lives in N.O. also and just added a sub(s) to his 2 channel system. You should hit him up.
The Dude
Whats is your budget, I think it was mentioned but there are some diy jobs that would work great. I know I like my Velodyne 18.
RonW.
@ CECAA850, yeah, I haven't hooked up with canman yet.... @ duder, is yours a DIY'er.... Thanks, RonW.
hugeroost
OP, I'm running duel Outlaws in my 2-channel with herseys, the sound is unreal. You first need to know you will need a sub with line level connections, that really limits what you can get, Rythmik also makes some great subs that work in 2-channel, what are you using for power ? I run the old ss gear myself, mostly Pioneer, I have a 1250 in the house and a 1050 in the shop, great units....Roost
