Mystery
How different/better are RF5 than RF3's?
The History Kid
How different/better are RF5 than RF3's? A fair bit better. They use the same horn as the RF-7's, are a bit more efficient and were actually manufactured in Hope. They're definitely the better speaker of the two. oldenough
RF5's manufactured in Hope, with furniture grade veneer.... Yes the RF5 is the better speaker than the RF3. Edited October 30, 2014 by oldenough
Tremors
I'd try and get the RF-5's for less than $400 and leave the rest of that lesser quality stuff behind.
CECAA850
Great price for a great sounding pair of speakers.
Mystery
RF5's use the same woofers and not much different in size so me not going for them. If it were RF7's, that'd be good upgrade.
W27
I can't get the Klipsch information site to load right now for some reason, but I'm pretty sure the RF5 and RF7 DO NOT use the same horn. I believe that's the big difference. The RF-7 has the 1.75" where I believe the RF-5 is the 1". I remember hearing the 5, and to my ears it didn't have the sparkle of the 7.

W27
Driver/horn... You know what I mean. Just didn't want him misinformed. I heard the 5's and they didn't have the clarity of the 7's. I'd say closer to a RF-82 with veneer.
