Glass tops on black La Scalas

Has anyone here put glass tops on black La Scalas? I was planning to do this after re-painting them but now that I have done that I like the way they look and am not sure it will improve the looks.

If you have done this please post a photo.

Thanks  :)

I've seen glass tops on speakers before, its ok I guess. it depends on what your trying to achieve. if people are going to be putting things on it, glass might be a good idea. On my one la scala, that seems to be a bit if a $#^@ magnet, I have a cloth on the top of it.

Do all of you have a way to hold the glass down so it will not fly off in an earthquake?  [West Coast perspective].

Of course I do. I used Liquid Nails and had twelve holes drilled in the glass so I could use 2" drywall screws thru the glass into the $4000 speakers. Tinted liquid glass was poured into the countersunk screw holes so they couldn't be seen.

Humor aside, why would I worry about that? I expect things falling from above would be more of a concern.
