gadgtfreek
I don't have RF7lls but I voted anyway IMO, any reference II setup applies, granted the RF-7II is probably ideal for 2 channel. Most of my use is blu-ray concert/movie and HDTV. I do listen to 2.2 music, but it is rare. Edited April 17, 2015 by gadgtfreek
TasDom
Voted based before adding my Belle's to the mix. Since then, zero 2 channel with the 7II's. Loving the sound of fully horn loaded for 2 channel. :emotion-29:
Paducah Home Theater
I use them primarily for theater because I enjoy the extra punch and growl. I have a set of THX's sitting beside them but I don't like how they don't dig very deep, I don't like to rely on the subs for things that towers should be able to reproduce. RF-7ii's get you that "big" sound better compared to THX in my opinion. Full range full-auto gunshots on RF-7ii's is silly fun. Do you ever have issues with the RF-7II bass conflicting with the subs or do you just set the crossover point lower on the sub?

I think I do sometimes at least up high in the typical subwoofer frequencies. It seems to be cleaner with less conflicts if the subs are LFE only instead of LFE plus mains but maybe that's just in my head. You get more punch from the kick drum in LFE+main mode though on concert movies.
Paducah Home Theater
WOW, so you run the 7's on full range, not small and 40 or 60? I used to. I think my favorite setting is 40 hz though. The subs are louder from 60-80 but RF-7ii's sound better on some material. Edited April 17, 2015 by MetropolisLakeOutfitters
gadgtfreek
Cool, with the Outlaw 7500 I will be tinkering, I sure am crossing them lower than 80hz though! Edited April 17, 2015 by gadgtfreek
derrickdj1
I use my speakers mainly for music but, since they are set to small they are always with at least two subs.
Ceptorman
I run my mains on large also. Plenty of bass for music.

jwc
OK. So I see two votes so far %100 2 channel. This is my interest as I rarely do ANY HT stuff. I have given thought of running some additional RF7-II's to my huge horn setup. It would be a simple 2 channel tube rig with DAC. Looking forward to seeing more voters.... jc
TheFiend1
I wish my Rf7iis sounded better for 2 channel music they sound hollow and not very detailed at all. During movies it's insanely good. But listening to 2 channel music makes me sad. I'm running a fiber optic from my pc which is playing lossless tracks to my pioneer elite vsx92txh straight to the towers. Been thinking about getting a different set of speakers better suited for music and an integrated amp :/

Been thinking about getting a different set of speakers better suited for music and an integrated amp :/ Just a thought. Maybe a good quality DAC between your PC and your Pioneer AVR is in order. I am sure the 92txh has decent DACs for an 8 year old AVR but I bet you could improve on that noticeably. Maybe even an outboard amp to go along with your Pioneer. Just things to consider before giving up on your RF-7II's. Bill
gadgtfreek
Playing itunes airplay to my marantz (lossless from itunes), with the 7ii's in pure direct, is outstanding in my setup.
