Pintoracer
NOAA are saying the Red will crest Saturday at 34.1 ft. It is currently at 31 ft. Flood Stage is 30 ft in Shreveport. People are fishing on the sides of the Parkways on both sides of the river in Shreveport-Bossier City. They are catching catfish by the dozens. wvu80
In Texas 24 dead from flooding, 11 still missing. It seems unbelievable in this day and age that people still die from something as predictable as flood waters rising. http://www.fox4news.com/story/29186268/4-more-bodies-found-after-texas-flooding
Mallette
In Texas 24 dead from flooding, 11 still missing. It seems unbelievable in this day and age that people still die from something as predictable as flood waters rising. http://www.fox4news.com/story/29186268/4-more-bodies-found-after-texas-flooding Not that unbelievable. There were people who left places in Houston with not even a sprinkle and wound up flooded out on freeways 30 minutes later. The deluge was incredible. Now, here we go again. Low is moving right across open gulf waters and is expected to make landfall on the Texas coast as a tropical storm. Morning Houston radio said possible 8 to 15 inches for Houston. Bear in mind we are still saturated. We had another 5 or 6 inches just in the past 3 days. I just looked outside and see visible signs of rotation aloft and the general look and feel would have been enough for a seasoned harbormaster of 150 years ago to run up a gale warning and keep a weather eye. Next 24 to 36 may be interesting. Dave Edited June 15, 2015 by Mallette

Mallette
Just what we need, more rain to get the Red River going again!!! Well, it's on and east of the lake so you might get lucky. Dave
Seadog
They are predicting up to six inches over the next few days here in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. That's on top of the highest lake levels we've seen in 25 years. Water has been flowing over the spillway at Lake Grapevine for the past 10 days. The last time the lake level got to the spillway was 1990. Like the weatherman said, the best way to end a drought is with a flood! You folks down near Houston are in for some rough days ahead. Pintoracer
The Red is still above flood stage, so any significant rain upstream can bring the river right back up. It topped out here a few days ago at 37.5 ft.. That's 3.0 ft higher than what was predicted. All of y'all down around Houston buckle down. Be safe! CECAA850
It looks as if the closer it gets, the more westward it's being predicted to hit.

Yes, but at least for Houston history would suggest at least a 50/50 that as it comes ashore around Port O'Conner it will veer northeast and we could get seriously rain hammered. We'll know by mid afternoon. Dave
Sancho Panza
Well, how is the situation going so far with rain from Bill?
Mallette
Maybe four inches at my house. However, the squalls continue to come in off the gulf. It's a bit unusual. Looks like bad news for the Red River folks. It's head much more north and looks like it may be dumping a lot of water in the upper Lake Texhoma watershed. Mallette
Current radar with flash flood warnings. It's still roaring in from the Gulf. We had a lot of rain and some serious wind before dawn.
