oldred
I said a while back in the " What I got today" topic that I bought these for a winter project. I had yesterday off work ...so I started a little early. Started stripping at 6:15 am finished around noon.....Look what I found....underneath the black lacquer...beautiful walnut. Looks like i am going to d a walnut oiled thing....only one issue ....the risers are oak. Going to have to do a little matching Check it out. Still got to do some sanding before oil and reassembly. Thanks, G.E.M. Edited November 26, 2015 by oldred

ZEUS121996
Awesome looking grain, it makes you wonder what people are thinking painting them Mark
oldtimer
It depends. If Klipsch painted them, it was because the veneer wasn't up to matching standards. If someone else painted perfectly good veneer, I agree with you.
ZEUS121996
Agreed, Klipsch standards used to require bookmatching, with VOXX IDK Mark
oldred
I believe Klipsch painted them. That is why the risers are oak G.E.M.

jason str
Time to make some Walnut risers. A little more height may help if new risers are an option. Looks nice, keep up the good work.

oldred
Got things ready to reinstall the drivers....I should get a package from Russellville Arkansas next week. First ones are re doing walnut veneer and then Danish oiling them. The last ones are after reassembly and finishing Briwax. Still thinking about re doing the grills with Heritage cloth ....but I don't know. Thanks, G.E.M.
