Mighty Favog
I don't remember how long ago it was I could have sworn there was a thread on here about Alan's death. Anyway, today's papers said he passed recently at age 69. http://www.cincinnati.com/story/life/people/2016/01/14/actor-alan-rickman/78781794/ Edited January 14, 2016 by Mighty Favog

DizRotus
Were you thinking of Pete Postlethwaite? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pete_Postlethwaite Postlethwaite was another British character actor who passed not long ago. In both cases, they will be missed, while their performances live on.

Mighty Favog
I read that look on his face "falling from the 30th floor" in Die Hard was genuine as they released him prematurely for the stunt. And Bruce Willis has permanent hearing loss from firing his 15+ rounds Beretta 92F in such close proximity and closed quarters to his ears. Shiva
He was good in Quigley Down Under. Yeah, I loved the look on his face when Quigley outdrew him. Classic. Who has seen him in another movie he did called Bottleshock. Worth seeing if you missed it.
garyrc
He was great in Love Actually, but so was everyone else! They either had a great director, or the cast was so superb that it didn't matter. Or both. He had the capacity to make you laugh and empathize with him at the same time. Like Chaplin.
