soundbound
Have you ever checked out their speakers? Lots of great speakers videos and music. https://www.youtube.com/user/hosoken007/videos?flow=grid&sort=p&view=0 Edited April 21, 2016 by soundbound
soundbound
I'd like to own these. Edited April 21, 2016 by soundbound
The Dude
I have thought about building something like this. I noticed that the other pair use a tweeter. They sure do look purdy, I like the amp rack underneath.
wvu80
Kenrick is a Japanese company that gives premium white glove service. Their speaker reconditioning (mostly JBL) includes re-magnetizing the drivers. They have a pretty good video camera that documents their delivery and setup service to customers. The camera also serves to advertise their rebuilt speakers with some pretty good music. I bet they have a ton of money tied up in electronics to make those speakers sound that good. Good stuff.
Rivervalleymgb
They are excellent. But their speakers run into the tens of thousands and up. Their are lots of plans out there to build your own. Populating them will be more difficult, though. I sold my 4333a's to a guy in Dallas that builds cabinets off JBL's plans. I have tried to convince him to build me a set of 4355's, but it is down on my list of things to do right now.
Grizzog
The restorations look fantastic. I'd love to actually hear most of what he has shown on his YouTube channel.

I don't how it would sound, but I was thinking something like a pair JBL 5460 sandwiching Fastlanes Eliptrac 400. There are other model horns out there, JBL was the first one that came to mind. I believe Altec Lansing had something similar.
djk
"I'd like to own these." I bought my house for less than those TAD drivers cost!
The Dude
I wonder how much those bronze tweeters go for? Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
djk
JBL 4333B TAD 2402 + 703 Quad 57 WE 15A Note: The K55V is a phenolic copy of the 555 driver on the 15A horn. Isn't it odd that the WE15A sounds more lifelike than any of the other newer speakers?
Rivervalleymgb
I was under the impression that Kenrick didn't just restore, but built all the drivers and horns in house for their version of the big JBL monitors?

Rivervalleymgb
Been following Kenrick for several years. I have seen videos of them at least building their own voice coils, etc.

I would love to hear a pair in person, Do you by chance know the recording used to demo those? Found it. You don't realize how good that driver sounds until you drop back to it.
