twk123
I am selling my '84 LaScalas in Raw Birch (Have been wiped down with mineral oil). They have been upgraded with Bob Crites A4500 Crossovers and tweeters. The speakers are near pristine examples with only a few very minor dings. I truly love these speakers but we are planning on moving back to CO in the near future and I will most likely not have room for them to move. I have caught the DIY bug as well and would rather have a clean slate to tinker with rather than hurt these beauties. Never mind I am keeping them. twk123
they are not raw birch now, somebody stained them also they are from 1983 ( Y ) very nice condition at a very reasonable price Thanks Budman. Huh, I always thought they were 1984 due to the "84" at the end of the serial number. As for the stain, they were raw when I got them and I just wiped them down with some mineral oil. I am sure they can be washed off before staining.

twk123
Thanks guys. As of now I have a local potential buyer who is going to give them a listen tomorrow. He is 66 years old and bought a pair of Heresey's from an actual Klipsch store in 1975 here in SLC. He recently brought them out of the basement and fell in love with Klipsch all over again and found my ad. I spoke with the guy for about a half hour on the phone about the Klipsch philosophy and high efficiency speakers etc. (I swear this forum has made me the ultimate Klipsch salesman ) Lol his daughter is a singer and she was shocked when he hooked his speakers up and she said, "Its like there is someone singing in my living room!". A am excited to show him the system and have them go to someone truly appreciative. I will keep you posted on the sale in case any forum members are still looking. twk123
Its 12:40 at night and I came to the realization that I cannot bring myself to sell these speakers. It was a somber evening sitting down knowing this would be my last listening session with them and I got a feeling in my gut that grew worse and worse. I was going though all my favorite songs and finally the slow version of Grateful Dead's 'Jack Straw' came on from the Europe '72 album that my Dad used to play to me when I was young and I broke down listening to it. I am glad to finally get some photos of them online to share with you guys though. Most likely upgrades coming soon too.

wvu80
Music can certainly stir powerful emotions in us all. Our speakers are the bringers of that music. I get it and I bet a lot of other people on this Klipsch forum get it too.

mustang guy
I ask myself what I could spend that 1200 dollars on which would give as much pleasure. It's easy to sell stuff that is collecting dust, however.
