mopardave
While i had the backs off the CW's installing the new Crites B3 xo's, i noticed the woofers do not match. 1 new K33 round magnet and the other a K33E square magnet. I built these 16 or so years ago and forgot about this mismatch. Never really noticed anything different sonically. Do you think it causes any issues? mopardave
Guess not, but would it cause issues with the amp as its driving them?

If the resistance is the same, the amp shouldn't care.

tigerwoodKhorns
You were OK for 16 years but now that you know you sure do have a problem. Try heavy drinking, maybe you can forget about the mismatch and be OK again.
mopardave
Yur right, It was fine for all those years. Bob Crites got me thinking about it as i mentioned it to him when i ordered the B3 xo's. He kind of threw it out there a old woofer with square magnet and a newer woofer with round magnet, but we didn't talk about it. Guess it didn't bother me at the time i put them in there, so no lost sleep here. Just thought i would throw that out there to get an up to date response. Thanks guys
Schu
my first pair of CW's were just like that... it never bothered me.
Tony Whitlow
A square magnet rocks better and a round magnet rolls better. With the rock and the roll, all’s good[emoji41]Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
mopardave
Im good with. Like i said, just wanted some up to date opinions on it. Thanks
longdrive03
I redid a set of C's for a friend which had same situation with one of the dustcaps being vented. I've read (I think) somewhere that Klipsch used whatever might be on the shelf even if from different manufacturers since all of the woofers met spec in the C cabinet. geoff.
I was under the impression the square magnet K-33 digs lower than the round magnet version. I believe Bob had run some tests and the results are somewhere in this forum. One thing is for sure, the Cornwall cabinet knows what to do with the lower Fs. JohnA
The numbers in the box get a LOT closer. I wouldn't worry.
