How well would the FH-1’s work with some JBL 2” horns ? Number 2446H . Lens model 2385 horn lens.
These things are so freaking heavy. Definitely will have to have some bracing on the backs of them

The specs indicate that your horn and driver will do well to build a 2-way speaker combo on an FH-1. You will need a L-pad to trim the 2446H output down to 104db.

 

from the 2446H/J spec sheet;

• 100 watts continuous program power handling when used above 500 Hz
• 150 watts continuous program power handling when used above 1 kHz
• 500 Hz to 20 kHz response
• 8 ohm (H) or 16 ohm (J) impedance
• 111 dB sensitivity (1W/1m on 2380A horn)
• Coherent Wave™ phasing plug design for increased high-frequency output
• 100 mm (4 in) pure titanium diaphragm with radial-rib topology
• 100 mm (4 in) edgewound aluminum voice coil

I’ve been looking for a pair of the FH-1 around central Florida and no luck so far
Where can I find a complete set of build plans for them? All the ones I find have been missing a lot of info

I don't have cut sheets or plans for those cabinets but, maybe I can take some measurements of my existing boxes to fill in your missing dimensions.

The plans on the tech-talk thread linked in the post above show what appear to be non-congruent numbers. That is because the dimensions of the cross-brace wings are overlayed on top of the dimensions of the main cabinet.

Because all the original FH-1s were covered with thick black paint, the nose of the doghouse is cut and fitted differently than a La Scala. Not shown on the dimensional plans linked above are the two simple 30 degree cuts.

The La Scala's leading edge is much prettier, with the two panels cut and fit like this.

If building a folded horn cabinet with per-veneered wood (La Scala style), you may need a table saw jig that will clamp the board up perpendicular to the table saw surface to make the rips with the blade tilted at 30 degrees to create the 60 degrees cut.

If veneering or painting the faces after assembly, the FH-1 type joint is probably easier for the DIY builder.

I think that Crites sells a suitable bracket.
