JCHAZ
I actually pulled the tag on this at an estate sale a few weeks ago before I realized it wasn’t part of a pair. It was $200 bucks so I should have just grabbed it.
DizRotus
Looks like a Cobraflex squawker horn. Depending on the woofer, it’s probably worth $200 to the right person.
JohnA
That has to be a modified K-horn.
hanksjim1
Agreed...quite a few posts here suggesting the Cobreflex horn is an upgrade to the K-400/401...curious what the tweeter and woofer are...crossover looks similar to my '55 k-500/5000
billybob
Looks like the seller is not budging yet on price...
DizRotus
I also agree that it appears to be a modified Khorn.
filmofreddy
It "could" be factory. Klipsch offered (for a very short time) an "economy" K-Horn using the Cobraflex. This is probably why He considered reflex horns "irritating". I'm sure JRH can supply more info.
DizRotus
I never heard that a Cobraflex horn was available from Klipsch. I hope @JRH can shed some light on this.
grindstone
Yeah I'd like to hear any comments from Jim as well. In fact, I found this thread searching for some reference substantiating my (ever-increasingly-failing) memory regarding PWK poo-pooing "reflex horns" somewhere or other. Marvel
The Cobraflex horn was what was shipped with the University Classics. With a better driver they aren't an awfull horn. I believe they were in the Classics that Nico picked up in the Netherlands. The horn is good down to 250Hz... Partly the reason they were used as paging horns.
