Deang
Well Neo, it's time to sh!t or get off the pot. I've been known to do some pretty insane things on this forum, and if you don't buy them soon, I just might.
neo33
The hell you will, Deano . They're mine, I am just waiting for Santa to deliver them!
Cut-Throat
Hey Dean, That isn't your pre-amp I just saw on Audiogon - is it? The pictures looked a little too familar. Update - I just saw the Canary amp for sale on Audiogon also. Now I know it's you.
Painful Reality
Deano, or whoever interested in a SET 300B amp Not a 300B push pull but something interesting. A friend of mine as started to build these 300B monoblocks commercially. Those big Plitron OPTs are the best OPTs I have tried with the 300B. http://indigo.ie/~walton/waltonaudio.html
bkrop
Price of those 300b Manley monoblocks new from Acousticsounds:$7200 for the pair!
Dale W
Friend of mine has the manley "snapper" fairly impresive sound if i do say so. I've been watching and reading several articles for the past few years about manley and there company goals. She's a cool lady , pair of tube amps stuffed into the top of her bedroom closet for late night listening. There talking about breaking into the "HT " market with a multi channel tube amp !!!! That i'd like to see
jt1stcav
EveAnna is definately a woman to be reconed with...a mountain climber, Harley rider, and a photographer! Didn't realize that the majority of her business is in pro studio sound, and not in consumer high-end tube gear. Regardless, she sure knows her tubes (think her dad developed Ampeg guitar amps). bkrop
Hey Dean: You need to join the "Amp of the month club"!
Klipschfoot
Maybe these guys could cook up something. "Three pairs of SE300B monoblocks built by my SETUP friends in Manila using the JEL SE300Bdx circuit, using high quality iron from Japan - Tango NY15s permalloy, Tamura F5002 Amorphous and Tamura F7001 permalloy. Since the power transformers used were Angela Universals, these amps also saw duty with 2A3 power triodes."
neo33
Hey Deano, tired of your preamp already? . Getting rid of all of your tube gears for good? .
mobile homeless
I dont think anyone appeared too interested in the Audiogon ad I posted. I did want to add that I found out these are the original type of Manley SE/PP 300B amps and not the latest Neo-Classic version. kh
Guy Landau
Dean, Here's your chance : http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3064877807&category=39783
Deang
Oh crap. Thanks Guy. Ahhhhhhrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggg.
mobile homeless
I really think this is a compelling pair of monoblocks and might go for a song here. These amps sold for near $8000 new. Each amp has twin 5UG rectifiers and dialable feedback with a choice of speaker taps. The mere flexibility would be major fun. I would consider this a neat amp to try at this stage of your quest. And because of the raves, would not be hard to sell. kh
neo33
You better hurry up before I ****** them, Deano .
