Al Klappenberger
Tom, There's always something the trigers off any project! For me, it was buying a set of Grado headphones! Figure that one out! Al K.
Dylanl
Thanks Tom. In person the Ridgid does look like a high quality saw. I compared it to saws at Lowes and Sears nothing even close for the price. Most of the guide rails on the less expensive units shake and are not even square. I think you made the right call in getting the right tool for the job. I have been working with my fathers beat up 20 yr. old table saw. It make things soooo difficult. Marvel
Tom, I understand perfectly about what a PITA it would be. They are beautiful nonetheless, and I am sure they will sound great too. Marvel
jtkinney
Hi Tom, Great job on the Belle. I had to edit the s sincy you only built one! You might have answered this, but where did you get your veneer? I need some walnut to repair a few minor spots on the Belle's that I just bought. Thanks and keep up the good work. You're inspiring me to get busy and get mine cleaned up.

Tom Mobley
Well, here's a couple pics of the nearly-finished product. These are still with the cheapie digicam with the nasty flash. I've taken some pics with my real camera, but it'll take a couple days to get the CD back. There's no mid horn or tweeter mounted, so you can sort of see through the upper grill cloth. Tom Mobley
looking down you can see the grain of the wood under the bottom grills.

Tom Mobley
the finish is straight high gloss oil poly, I'll probably end up toning it down some with 2000 grit sandpaper or something, then a coat of carnuba wax.
