fastlane
Something does not jive. If Gary Powers' U-2 spy plane was shot down over Russia in 1960, then he would have been 0 at the time. Happy birthday and all, but a Cold War hero shold not have to lie about his age.
garymd
I was EXACTLY 1 month old when the U2 spy pilot Francis Gary Powers was shot down by the Russians on May 1, 1960. My due date was April 1st and my mother won a free year of diaper cleaning service for guessing my birth date. Actually, my name was Glenn for about 2 weeks before my parents decided to change it to Gary. It had to start with the letter "G" after my recently deceased Aunt Gus (yes, AUNT Gus). Jewish tradition. Jews cannot be named after living relatives and the first initial is all that's required.

garymd
1960 was a great year indeed. So far I got a dozen golf balls from my daughter and my wife's upstairs cooking me a killer dinner. I'm in the dungeon listening to John Jenkins and Kenny Burrell while the smell of the baked ziti cooking upstairs is making my mouth water. They've given up trying to get me audio related gifts. I'm guessing it's because I carry in stacks of LPs at least 3 days a week and occasionally a big item will just "show up."
fini
Cool! I got a free Blue Note LP today in your honor (no joke, bad shape, and the seller kept the jacket. Volume 1, Miles Davis, BLP 1501). No, I ain't sending it to you ! Happy Birthday!!
