Parrot
One mistake you don't want to make: You don't want to say to Craig, "Your quoted price is for *each* amp, right?"
Daddy Dee
Paul, Very nice amps! Congrats! Good to see you back at the club.

Tom Mobley
Recall that originally Craig was going to name them Tube Rollers Delight, but for some reason he changed his mind.....

DizRotus
Be kind. Einstein was a weak speller, and he couldn't build a tube amp to save his life.
mark1101
Parrot, Roll any tubes yet? I just did a NOS upgrade but with the same types, + JJ KT-88s. Let me know what's sounding good to you in the VRDs. Thanks
Audio Flynn
Paul is probably sitting in front of his K Horns clutching his Websters dictionary trying to find the right adjectives before writing the review of the VRDs.
seti
Wow those are beautiful! The workmanship on the inside is impressive would love to hear a pair. Anyone in Little Rock have a pair ?

How embarrassing! I've been wondering why I can't get any sound out of them! I naturally assumed that the tubes were underneath, inside, where they'd be nice and protected, and all those little holes on top were for ventilation. But under closer scrutiny, it appears that from other people's pictures of VRDs, the tubes are on top, like a little garden. I guess I should've known it wouldn't take a full month for the amps to get to operating temperature. Now it turns out that those little boxes of cardboard that I figured were just packing material, that they had tubes packed in them. I'll have to push these tubes in the holes and see if any sound comes out.

They call subways "tubes"; go figure.

Parrot
Inserting the tubes, or valves in this case, has made a heck of a difference. Whereas before it was as if there was no amp there at all, now I'm cooking with gas. The stand was made in Hope, Arkansas.
