codhead
"Why on Earth would Klipsch build a huge box Stateside, only to ship it overseas, that just plain doesn't make sense." Michael, Check out the label from my '77 CDBR. It went to Germany - but thankfully it found it's way back home. Damn, sounds like an episode of "Lassie". colterphoto1
Mr. Craig OstbyWhat is his user name? There were a half dozen who planned to make the show, but didn't. Sorry, but I don't remember meeting a Craig there. And I thought I met everyone.Let's celebrate the releases as they occur, hopefully soon. This is time for teamwork, not paranoia at who knows what. colterphoto1
Like Michael said, we have to wait and see, put if is does turn out to be $4000, that is much to much money. Although the united states is not the indended market for these speakers, so I hear Where are you guys 'hearing' this stuff???? Why on Earth would Klipsch build a huge box Stateside, only to ship it overseas, that just plain doesn't make sense. Is there some vast European market for Heritage? 20 of us were THERE, we know the truth. If what you hear isn't coming from a top Klipsch employee, or someone who attended the Heritage Gathering, you ain't hearing the truth. Respectfully, Michael I heard it from craig!!! And he attended, so take it up with him. I do not believe he attended the Heritage Gathering. He wasn't on the final list of attendees either. Don't know where his info is coming from. NOSValves
How the heck did I get in this one? No I was not at hope. But I was at Indy and did talk to many in the know about the new Heritage line. In this case I think someone is mixing up what I said. The Premier line was something they were contemplating as a EURO targeted speaker but also they think the Heritage line may have success over seas. Stop and think about recent mergers and acquisitions at Klipsch and the puzzle starts to fit. Will the Heritage line be a Euro exclusive heck no and I'm sure if the Premier line ever comes to fruition it will be available state side also. Market targeting doesn't translate into market exclusive. but even then what is said and what really ends up happening could be two completely different things. None of us will know for sure until it's all said and done. Face it for the most part us forum people mean very little to the Klipsch line were mostly all to cheap to pay for new speakers when they can be had for peanuts used myself included. Heck a few months back a snapped up a basically new looking set of 94 Lascalas for $800 bones. Craig
dragonfyr
How's this for a thread hijack! ...Regarding spending $4K for a pair of Cornwalls IIIs or IVs or Vs or...(or was that A PIECE?!). I won't be.I'll leave to others to examine the cost structure.[]
crazytubepower
I relize I did mess up craigs words, he was expressing the fact that he didnt like the way the primere looked and belived it would not sell in the united states and looked more like a euro speaker. In the past, europe has bought a great deal of heritage. For example, almost all of the 50th k-horns went there. Enough said
126mhz
Knowing that Klipsch has always seemed to offer real bang for the buck in a market filled with audio companys seem to set their prices by saying to themselves; "Think if the highest price we could possibly sell these for,..and DOUBLE IT!" For Klipsch it's high,...but it's about par with the rest of the industry. I hope you're wrong.
Daddy Dee
An interesting story I was hearing in Hope is about the requirement that Klipsch dealers NOT sell any gear ABOVE the MSRP. Some examples of sales lost came from China where rich guys would come in the store and say, "OK show me all your speakers over $10K" In some circles Klipsch is not taken seriously because it is such a bargain. Different world than I live in, but it is most interesting.
kenratboy
Yeah, $4k seems a bit steep - BUT... -They are well built -They use expensive drivers -They will not sell a lot (unless they get some dealers!!! - come on, new homes are getting BIGGER!) No idea. A pair of Martin-Logan Clarity's (8" woofer, electrostatic panel, rear-firing 'ambient' tweeter, external power supply and internal transformer) is $3,000 ('fixed' price). I think if the new Cornwall's SOLD for $3,000, they would be a great deal. Dedicated center? That is a deal killer. Looking at Colter's (sp?) picture from the gathering, that mid and tweeter would be nice if flanked by some 8" woofers as a center.

I really hope this did not contribute in any way to the stratospheric retail prices. Would be a shame if the American consumer is getting hosed in order to appease wealthy communists. Perhaps it would be more beneficial to have Chinese dealers throw in a copy of Ravel's Bolero, and a bottle of powdered rhino horn.

Marvel
My JBL 4311s, the same physical size as a pair of Heresys, would cost $3k for a pair today, if the 1972 price were adjusted for inflation, etc. But new technology usually gives us better at a lower cost. The Corns could still be a good deal. Bruce
TBrennan
If Klipsch brings out new CWs then the owners of old ones can join the Cult of the Archaic and go on and on about how the old ones are "better". ;-) And no doubt some will. In a market where "audiophile" speakers with chinless 5" woofers and tragic dome tweeters go for thousands of dollars $4000 for CWs doesn't seem bad. It will drive the older ones up and more than make a good judgment call on why yes or no.. I think in talking with those on the Heritage trip, they have re tweaked the Cornwall some.. and even if they are not quite done... They obviously are trying to make it all work performance and price break wise. I think this fits nicely with the best in class Klipsch Philosophy at the Cornwall level. But you have to admit, a great speaker between the heresy..... and the la scalsa, k horn's too. IMO.
Duke Spinner
i don't think a $ 4000 List Price is out of line Speakers have always carried a high list/ mark-up/ mark/down and, I think Cornwalls are very under-valued right now ..... saay ...
