Hi thereyugobuddy,

here is another challenge:

If I keep self-control,
I'll be safe in my soul.
And the childhood belief
Brings a moment's relief,
But my cynic soon returns
And the lifeboat burns.
My spirit just never learns.

A little clue:

The song is from a well known band - from the 70s up to now.

In the 70s they had a famous double-album including the song.

4 of the five members of this band have a reunion and they are going to perfom some stadium-venues in summer 2007 in germany.

Jack

Sorry for my delayed reaction

Geez --

In the Cage by Genesis -- there a fave--

You heard of a bans called the Watch? great Genesis/Gabriel sound alike from Italy--

How about this:

A cloud appears above your head;
A beam of light comes shining down on you,
Shining down on you.
The cloud is moving nearer still.
Aurora borealis comes in view;
Aurora comes in view.

This was a huge 80's alt-hit --great MTV video, too--

a little more:

I walked along the avenue.
I never thought Id meet a girl like you;
Meet a girl like you.
With auburn hair and tawny eyes;
The kind of eyes that hypnotize me through;
Hypnotize me through.

Jeff, I cannot die. Get the crash cart stat! We need a softball to revive this thing. No post form Amy and I knew the "Flock" tune so here goes.

I told your mamma I'd get you home but I didn't tell her I had no car
I saw a lion he was standing alone with a tadpole in a jar.

Come on Michael get on this one!

We're starting to repeat here... I think Who's You Better You Bet has already been done, so've Flock of Seagulls...

I see we started a Motown thread. Haven't checked it out yet, will. how about a Contemporary thread? Anybody here recognize "My heroes had the heart to lose their lives out on a limb, and all I remember is thinking "I want to be like them..." (*GREAT* song...)

Heh, that'll be Metallica, "Bleeding Me." This one should be

easy, hope it's not a repeat --

Sweet the sin

Bitter the taste in my mouth

I see seven towers

But I only see one way out

You got to cry without weeping

Talk without speaking

Scream without raising your voice

Hey O how you been? Long time no see!

I am 99% sure that is a U2 song....guessing J.Tree album. It is really bugging me because I can hear it in my head but can't come up with the name. I'll be racking my brain for a few minutes then return with the title.

EDIT got it "Running to Stand Still" My first thought was "One Tree Hill"

Nice challenge. Very familiar, but not too obvious.

When I walked in through the door
Thought it was me I was looking for
She was the first song I ever sang
But it stopped as soon as it began

Off of "Who's Next" Song Is Over

Let's see if anyone remembers this,

"I pulled into Nazareth, I was feeling about half past dead."

"I just need some place where I can lay my head."

One pill makes you larger and one pill makes you small...

Cool tune -- White Rabbit

I'm glad this thing got revived, Oldtimer --

how about this:

She keeps moet et chandon
In her pretty cabinet
let them eat cake she says
Just like marie antoinette
A built-in remedy
For kruschev and kennedy
At anytime an invitation
You cant decline

Caviar and cigarettes
Well versed in etiquette
Extraordinarily nice
