Speedball
I like it..........now if it can spin the wheels like the old 440 Magnum.
ranjith
I LOVE this new Challenger concept, nice lines on her eh? I wasn't so much impressed with the new Camaro as much.
cjgeraci
No, I would never get tired of that........(drool)......... Great post, Fish. Wonder what the 4-door Charger owners are thinking??? They should have waited until the real thing arrived. Bet the latest H/T Hemi version of the new Challenger will do justice to the 440 Magnum legacy. Even though I live in the Midwest (ughh snow!!), my wife and I are seriously considering one of these real wheel beasts for 2009.... Fish
"Wonder what the 4 door Charger owners are thinking"? Good one Carl, bummed I'd say. I think its stats were 175 mph/0-60 in 4.3 and 13 in the 1/4 mile.
cjgeraci
Any way we could retrofit the trunk of one with a pair of the now classic RC-7s (maybe) or RF-7s (probably not - too big).? Ford did a nice job with the new 'retro Mustang, but the Challenger looks even better. Carl.
ranjith
Thanks for the video link, I'm liking it more and more everytime I look at it. Especially the quad headlights, their position and that wide dodge crossair grill... looks stunning! And those quadruple flat rectangular exhaust at the back blends in so perfectly. NOSValves
Actually these newer muscle cars from Ford, Chrysler and GM out perform there counter parts from the 60's by a pretty good margin in every performance respect. This has been true since the late 90's. Then factor in they usually get over 20 MPG!! Craig
wstrickland1
I like it..........now if it can spin the wheels like the old 440 Magnum. Put some bias-ply tires on it and it will.

That's why serious sports car drivers went European back then. I have driven sailboats that have more precise handling than 60's and early 70's US cars. Kinda makes you wonder why these cars have increased so much in value.Back in 70 you could buy a Hemi Cuda for $5K.You could enjoy it,drive it,take care of it,pride of ownership and all and still make $120,000 if you sell it today
jacksonbart
I might get tired of looking at the picture, but doubt I would get tired of driving it. A great looking car, hope they make it.
WMcD
BTW, "Vanishing Point" was on the cable the other night. It is cult film for Mopar fans featuring a white Challenger. The Amazon reviews show that they used a bunch of cars, some repainted to white. Apparently Chrysler had a hand in supporting the flic from the start. I have not seen it available for rental. Still, if you're a Mopar fan, this could be worth a purchase. Gil
