steamer
This might have been posted,I really cant see them being worth the asking price.I see zero bids so far. http://cgi.ebay.com/KLIPSCH-3pc-KLIPSCHORN-K-357-KHORN-1959-K-5-HORNS_W0QQitemZ5871387148QQcategoryZ61378QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Greg
DizRotus
What is the center speaker? It's an interesting story, but the price seems unrealistic.

Have no idea,to guess I would say a center channel, read somewhere PWK was an advicate of them with Khorns.I have also read on this forum about a center channel used with Khorns. steamer
It might be a short horn?like the grills. Greg
JohnA
The center is a Shorthorn. It has been said Mr. Paul put his attention to several orders and some custom mods over the years. Enough that it has no economic value to the informed. Saying it doesn't make it so, either.
mark1101
Mr. Paul must have known those folks. Look at the picture. The "advice" and component matching, etc. was done in 1959, but the autographed photo appears to be MUCH later. Still the value is probably not enhanced tremendously. Nice story though. Nice set to pick up any how. Edit: I see AA networks in the Khorns. Were those available in 1959? They look pretty clean.

There may be a reasonable explanation however. -Tom

DizRotus
The center speaker doesn't appear to be a shorthorn, as it's not designed and made to fit snugly in a corner. I don't believe that PWK ever used shorthorns as center speakers. Therefore, it does appear to be a Cornwall. When did Klipsch first use the Cornwall designation? boom3
The picture is far later than 1959. I think it is 1985 or so. DRBILL knew PWK quite well and should be able to narrow down the date range. Overpriced in any event.
D-MAN
That is an early Cornwall. It has the same cosmetics as the Shorthorn. Quite rare, there is a nice one in the Klipsch museum. DM
boomer9911
just wish I had it for my centre instead of the KLFC7 I use.....
Daddy Dee
Did you catch the wooden mid-horn. Way cool. Occasionally one sees a Heritage item where Mr. Paul signed the tag or back of the speaker. I think that would be very nice.
