WMcD
. Professor Lindenbrock was reading the ancient Heims-Kringla of Snorre Tarleson when a small scrap of parchment fell out of the leaves. It showed a mysterious diagram and a message in a Runic alphabet
WMcD
The Professor takes a closer look.
WMcD
The Professor assembled his household which included Hans (the down gatherer) the Professors nephew Alex, and Gretchen (Alexs fiancé). He explained, "This must be a scrap of the lost manuscript of the great speaker builder, Arne Saknussemm. He built a giant cave by which he reached the bass of the earth. If we can just figure out this diagram we can do the same.
WMcD
The Professor recalled that a few facts are known folklore. The Caves are 24 inches deep. He uses a photocopy machine to enlarge the diagram onto graph paper.
WMcD
The effort was successful because an enlarged diagram popped out the machine. On the graph paper the Cave is 24 inches deep and the Professor can estimate the size of the pieces.
WMcD
But something is horribly wrong. The intense green light has blinded the Professor. It is probably temporary.

WMcD
Our intended broadcast for tonight has been delayed by technical problems related to log difficulties in from the main computer. On the other hand, I'm told the Professor is recovering nicely. He even got a get well card from a distant relative. Gil

WMcD
8. The Professor has recovered his eyesight. While convalescing he had plenty of time to contemplate a problem which invaded his dreams. His graph paper diagram confirms that the Caves use 12 inch drivers. He only has 15 inch drivers on hand left over from an earlier project. They are excellent but will they fit? Hand measurements dont look good.
WMcD
9. He works with his high power computer but always comes up with the same answer. No, the 15 inch drivers are not going to fit in a 12 inch space
