Hard to imagine how someone so successful, rich, etc can be so miserable. Figure it's a lack of God in their lives. Without Him in mine, sure would be a harder trip thru life indeed. From the teen fluff stuff early through Brokeback Mountain and to the yet released Batman film (the buzz in this town is that he's INSANELY good as the Joker) he has always impressed me. He would have had a long career in Hollywood, I think. And I don't think this was an overdose of recreational drugs--eveything I'm hearing is that he killed himself by eating a whole bottle of OVER THE COUNTER sleep-aid pills.
