BLSamuel
In another post where Dtel purchased some MWM cabinets and posted something about connecting them to his Heresies. So what have you done, or thought of doing, to Pimp Your Klipsch? Upgrades, sonic, cosmetic, real, or dreams are all welcome.
Guest srobak
*laughs* Over the top... neon woofer rings! PS: If I ever do that - you all have permission to take all my Klipsch gear after beating me about the head with it. This includes JB and mas. Guest srobak
Customized RF-5 Grills. This was an old damaged pair i decided to spoil after getting replacements. That reminds me of the vintage Pioneer grilles... that looks cool! Ah... here they are (it's a big pic... so - no inline... clicky!) http://25thaviation.org/184926970.jpg

Marvel
I was thinking that it would not be that big a deal to have the 402 horns painted the way many have done with their Oris horns. Like the ones in this pic.
soundbound
Marvel, That's a good idea.

Moderators dtel Posted January 31, 2008 Moderators Share Posted January 31, 2008 Oldenough, that really looks nice, speakers are protected and you can see the copper cones !
oldenough
Thanks dtel, when i first did them i liked the look a lot, but as time has gone on i prefer the more laid-back look of the black fabric. I pulled them out in response to this thread.
soundbound
oldenough, I think that looks really cool too! Seeing those pretty copper protected speakers is sweet! Are those with just the cloth removed or did you do something else to them too? Is that a vintage Marantz preamplifier below the Marantz cassette deck or an integrated? I have the Marantz 1152DC integrated and really like it a lot.
oldenough
Thankyou Soundbound, and my compliments to you on those Khorns, The grills had the cloth removed, the black plastic i then spray painted in Pewter, then i used a cherry self edhesive vinyl which as luck would have it matched perfectly, even close up it's hard to tell it's not the real thing. the amplifier you see is also a 1152 DC, yes your right it's a nice piece. Perhaps a Mercedes emblem?
oldbuckster
Good Idea Bart, I have floor mats left from the Porsche, could glue them to the outside, Why Didn't I think of that ? U R DA' MAN .... Thanx !!!
Groomlakearea51
Digging through some old JBL stuff and found a yard of the original dark blue grill cloth and a can of the blue motor board paint for 4311/4312/4313's. Now I'd bet that and a pair of grill emblems with the black removed and the lettering done in bright red would "pimp" a pair of Heresys...
