sputnik Posted May 28, 2008 Share Posted May 28, 2008 I remember an article sometime back about a museum that had a cataloged collection of "units" broken off of Greek and Roman statuary by religious zeolots in the dark ages (don't know why they would've saved them). The museum was attempting to match them back to the original statue using various techniques including polarized light microscopy and x-ray diffraction.
