  5. Major Dickinsons Blend has calmed my belly, a little Duggans helps also. Well i see i wake to the same Commie Governor, by 56%. The Stupid people of this state also just gave themselfs a 7.1 Billion new tax, Props 1&2 (the Con is water conservation). Already bought property in Nevada, everyone in the next six hangers next to me are from Calif. Got this whole next year to shop for the homestead, this is why im not upset over election results. Hopefully your local elections worked to your benefit.

  9. In other words, go to work until they tell you not to, no surprises. You can't retire yet, the local police already have you address and will get tired of noise complaints if it's everyday.

  12. Good day so far, hit the Pub for a couple of brews @9am, costco does not open till 10am so breakfast was in order. Found a new breakfast joint, Koren, and they has warm saki, interesting with breakfast. Costco has Peets coffee, so stocked up on Major Dickinsons blend, the norm would be to just purchase paper products, maybe $35 bucks, however with Saki being involved $90+ later good thing there are no audio stores around here

  13. Never seen anything like it. Unbeknownst to me, Chad had upgraded our weapons...and just in time. Came in Monday at dark thirty and this stuff was sprouting really fast. One had already put up 29 posts and another 19. I thought it would take FOREVER to track down the posts. However, first order was to get them dead in the water by disabling them. But when I went looking for content it was all gone! Chad gave us the "Death Blossom" if you recall The Last Starfighter. It was a slaughter... Dave

  14. That doesn't sound good a all, glad it was only slight food poisoning, even a slight case can get really bad for days. Not the kind of cleaning out I would wish on anyone, and it can clean you out quickly.

  21. My church was getting rid of a pair of monitors so I brought them home along with a set of collapsible DJ stands. Yamaha SM15IV is the model. Nothing particularly remarkable about them but they were free and will work perfect as garage speakers, field parties, etc.

  23. **From a different poster on a forum** I have no dog in this hunt. But, in the interest of honestly & objectively comparing the 2 products, I'll post this info. Set aside the China vs US made argument, here's what your extra $800 buys you with the Outlaw/ATI: Power transister output devices per channel: Outlaw 7500 - 12 Emotiva XPA5 - 6 Total Capacitor Capacity: Outlaw 7500 - 150,000 mf Emotiva XPA5 - 60,000 mf Power Transformer (Power Supply) Capacity: Outlaw 7500 - 2 X 1.6 kVA (3200 kVA) torroidal with independent windings per channel so acts more like monoblocks Emotiva XPA5 - 1 X 1.2 kVA "In an independent review the 7500 was bench tested to 240wpc all channels simultaneously driven at Outlaws .03% rated THD at an 8ohm load." You don't get something for nothing applies Is the Emotiva a good value? - Depending on one's needs, yes it can be. Is it equal in max performance to amps like Outlaw 7500, Parasound A51, etc? - No Double the output devices means less likely to blow fuse, overheat, blow power transistors, and more capable of providing clean output power. > 2.5 times the total power capacity (both transformer + capacitors) means far more capable of delivering rated power (or more) to all channels driven simultaneously at lower distortion & greater S/N ratio. There is NO comparison...the Outlaw is in a completely different league than the Emotiva & should be compared to $3000-4500 competitive amps like Parasound. If the XPA5 is "worth" $800, the Outlaw is very much worth $1600. For my money, I'd buy the Outlaw or the ATI equivalent in a nano-second over the budget & less capable Emotiva. Time for the Emo fanboys to start posting their glowing accolades I have nothing against Emotiva, in fact I'd seriously consider their XPA1 & XPA2. But I don't kid myself that the XPA5 can do the same job with the same transformer as the monoblock &2 channel versions plus handicapped with far less capacitance on tap.

  25. Yesterday at the SoCal coast, we awoke to an atmospheric phenomenon -- droplets of water were falling from the sky! No, i’m not joking … it really happened. I quickly went inside and googled “water falling from the sky,” and found there is actually a name for it … precipitation. Fearing this could be the end of the world … I quickly grabbed some take-out from a local eatery, went home, grabbed a guitar and jammed a bit … waiting for whatever was going to happen on this Sci-Fi Saturday. I don’t know if a meteor had momentarily knocked the earth off it’s axis; but, things are back to normal today … blue sky, sun shining, and mid-70s. Whew … that was a close one. Saw a red metor, or space debris tearing across the sky around 2 AM Sunday morning. Burnt out in front of my eyes. I did see it. Almost anything can happen. Enjoy the rain, it should last awhile. Enough to pizz of the weatherman anyways. That wobbley polar axis changes every is 27,000 years or so. Polaris is replaced by Sirius(?) as the polar north star. May be time, or what you experienced. Lol

  35. Why would a person buy a Cadillac when a Chevy does everything just as well? I understand I am answering a question with a question, but it is a question with a similar answer. Higher expectations for service, build quality, components. There is also the prestige, personal taste, buying american, buying american, buying american, and buying american.

  37. I agree with mustang. If you have Heresys, an academy might be a good fit. If you have RF-82ii, the RC-62ii would be the match. To my ears, the Academy is not an upgrade over the RC-62ii. I once bought 3 Academy's and I personally wasn't impressed.

  39. Yeah, but at least the Republicans have an offense, Mr. Michigan Wolverine man... +++ I voted. I have not missed an election. Ever. And just for you Mr. Wolverine Guy, my home state of West Virginia voted in the first Republican senator in FIFTY-FIVE years, in a state which is 2/3rds Democrat. I love our Democrats here, they are VERY independent minded, not at all like the National Democrat party. And in our local elections, I voted for a democrat, a man I respect very much, and who will do a great job in our county. I vote for the best person, not the best party. As long as you vote, I'll take what we get. I love it when dems control one branch of the govt, and the repubs control the other, as it creates gridlock, which I am for. That's because no matter WHICH side passes laws, it is always costs US money!

  40. Andrew Luck and the Colts started off slow last night, but eventually beat the Giants pretty easily. Ahmad Bradshaw, 7th round pick from Marshall had an awesome game. He sure is turning into an excellent find. Colts have a bye week, then play the Patriots in Indy, this could be a great game.

  45. Yeah you could get a better deal on 5.5's as far as what people are actually paying for them, but in reality they are well, well worth that price. You couldn't come anywhere near that performance for that price with new speakers, not even close.....As mentioned above though....$400 is a good deal on Forte' I/II and a better deal on the Chorus I/II family as well as lucky finds in the upper Heritage range. If you have the time.....and it will take time, and effort, you will find a better deal.....If I could do it over again I would have saved and spent more money on bigger and better main speakers. All These speakers last a lifetime with care, you may have these speakers for 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 years........Be patient find what YOU want. Whats an extra $200 to you in 3 years, let alone 10 or 20.
