  2. I been Hording some very select items over the years, started back around the age of 10 building radios/Ham hobby. I used to ask my dad to bring home a couple much needed resistors when he came home from work, he knew if he did not id likely find something in the house to get them from. One day we are in a Ham store, dad saw the cabinet boxs full of every (small resistor class) he ask the where he got them. I had a good xmas that year, he bought me the 1/2 watt cabinet, ever since then when i had the need, i just bought the whole dam cabinet, my repairs paid for them. So if anyone ever needs one or some let me know.

  3. Good job you electricians, tree decorators, and fish, boat, organ folks. It is always nice when you are given a clue as to what your mate wants for Christmas. For instance. I have been stiff of late and wanted a deep hand massage. Viola, saw a box the other day with a Shiatsu back massager in a shopping bag. Careful what you ask for... Drinking coffee since 58... Wrestling with cables since 82...trying to quit...

  4. You guys have been busy around here. I have been busy around here, wait that doesn't make since. I have been busy with in my realm, hopefully that makes since. Anyways downing the second cup of Joe, then off to my daughters choir concert. I am so excited that my daughter has taking a liking to the trumpet and choir. But between her 3 hobbies,(soccer, band, and choir) and my sons 3 hobbies(soccer, baseball, basketball). They keep me extremely busy, if I changed my dinner time meals to quick snacks. I would probably lose 15-20 lbs in a month. Oh yea did I mention that no one volunteered for my sons basketball league to help coach. So who is helping out, my wife and I. Oh yea did I mention I know nothing about basketball, so our team is doomed. Anyways have fun today folks, and if your out Christmas shopping don't forget to stop and have a drink. Sometimes I do have coffee when I am out shopping, today I might stop for a cigar and a drink since I will be by myself.

  5. It is made by the same guys that make pontoon boats, this one is called a Hurricane and around 20+ years old, i think the farmer told he took it from a guy for $500. Just keep in mind, no matter the boat, one statement stands true, "A boat is a hole in the water to witch one throws money".

  6. Yes white with white, black with black and bare grounds together. Your not stupid, better to be safe, stupid would be to not ask and just guess, but that's what breakers and fire extinguishers are for.

  7. Looks like a pontoon boat with no pontoons. I'd like to find a old pontoon boat in really bad shape cheap to redo how I want, were about 2 miles from a river, good party place. We rent them in Florida sometimes for the day, they are fun.

Guitar chords are hard and the going is slow. Finger tips are getting tougher. Oysters tomorrow night. Oh boy! Cheers Gents

  13. Two men . . . both with beards . . . they share the same birth month and year . . . each with two children . . . traveling through cyber-space and time with post counts on the Klipsch forum nearly identical . . . listening with similar Klipsch speakers on Pandora tuned into the Brittney Spears channel . . . sit back and watch their saga unfold as they have now entered . . .

  14. Believe me...I was not happy...had a little vocal temper outburst. It was nearly full. Did you mean because it WASN'T gin? It was also a cheap vodka...Skol...not bad though. Yeah, the plastic drain says don't use silicone. I think I will just use some Tub & Tile latex caulk under the drain on top of the sink drain hole.

  15. Good morning...well actually afternoon here. Yes, I did...up & down with ground on bottom...finished the new outlet around 11:00 last night. Only major mishap was knocking my vodka & tonic over while stripping romex on the couch. Not acceptable, better not ever hear of an accident like that again ! ........going to let you slide this time only because it was gin. Then I needed to kickback and relax, so was up late. Actually just finished biscuits & gravy and my 3rd cup of coffee. Now the vanity top and faucet & drain. Conflicting info out there on silicon or plumbers putty. Was going to use plumbers putty on the top side of the drain, but after reading the container it says don't use on plastic. It appears to be plastic with the rubber gasket on the bottom side. I don't recall using anything on the drain on the basement remodel I did 4 years ago. Was just going to use a little white pipe tape on the supply side threads. Do you experts concur? I always use plumbers putty but to be honest I probably did not read the directions so maby silicone would be better? Oh almost forgot I hate plumbing

  16. WOW that's a lot, If that were thousands of good capacitor's it would be worth a fortune.

  17. Correct From the way you explain it that would be fine, but you would have to catch it before the light switch so the outlet stays on when the light is turned off. Stupid question...but I'm stupid. I can simply take a single romex bundle consisting of one black, one white and a ground and wire nut them together in the old GFI box and feed it up to the new box, right? Oh, BTW, that is with just moving it up from the original, not using the switch option. The receptacle will have basically an in and out on the wiring. Be sure you wire it correctly or neither outlet will work. Were you looking for resistors? You might wish to look in on the thread you started. Ah Ha, i see you did. PM your address and i will drop in the mail whatever 1/4 watts your need, gold band NOS and no charge. All toll i believe i have well over 10,000 1/4 and 1/2 watt resistors, left over from my repair days.

  19. Thanks! I actually saw 2 last night. It helps to live in the country, because ambient city lights make them hard to see. I am a fellow star gazer.

  23. Belated good morning guys. On my 2d cup. Have a little work today for a client and then I gotta figure out what to get for my better half. Hate shopping but like to give stuff. Bad combo. Our Botanic Gardens does a spectacular Xmas light display so I got tickets and we're heading there this evening. Hope to be home early enough to crank up the HT. Cheers and try to check back later .....

  26. On the second cup of vanilla bean coffee. Got the tree up and lights on . . . my star is drooping. (Will have to get out some duct tape and two Popsicle sticks to straighten it out.) Talked mom and wife into putting the bulbs and stuff on today . . . my part is finished. Mom was so proud of me. Said she was shocked, because in her 77 years, she never ever knew a man who ever put a tree up. I never knew Mom was a sexist! Ha, ha.

  32. You took all the fun out of it with that statement. Kept the fun and risk in the equation. Didn't kill the power, but only used a small pointed drywall saw. Good thing...no wires back there but there was a horizontal PVC pipe. Luckily just enough room for a handy box. Box installed. O.K. NOW I will kill the power. I don't like getting shocked. I'm slow as molasses, but will get her done. A little shock therapy is a good thing, it keeps you awake and paying attention. That last statement was how we ended up with our third kid ! Your doing good

  34. Main bathroom's been in need of a gut & remodel for a long time, but the $ not there yet for a total gutting. Been looking on CL for a couple months for something decent and found a vanity, top, faucet, med cab, mirror and two light fixtures for $135. Floor needs to be replaced and leveled, but putting that off till the total remodel. So today I thought, I will just replace the old pedestal sink with the "new" vanity, top and faucet, because we haven't had hot water in there for 6 months due to a bad hot water faucet, which I could not get apart. All was going smoothly, and then SOB!!! Mother #$%^er!! Can't I ever catch a break?? What's wrong with this picture? And, no, not the ceramic base. Shimming the vanity out for that until new floor. Big hint in picture, but may not be really obvious because a piece of the puzzle is not in picture. Who will see it first? Old pedestal sing removed.

First cup going well, to be followed by many more. I see chuck is talking about his Organ again, it must be impressive.

  40. That is an interesting explanation about something that I kinda felt all along. Weighting (A/C/etc.) in measurement takes this type curve into consideration but for the reason of hearing threshold rather than room dynamics. An engineer at Danley said something I never forgot when I was asking about subs for the shop. He said it would take a lot of subs to pressurize a room that size. I had never considered that pressurizing a compartment was even a part of it. Since then, I have learned about 1/4th space, 1/8th space, etc, and cabin gain. Add to that the +10db in THX LFE. How does that come into play with all of the above? In movies at my shop at levels 15db below THX reference, my subs red-line in loud parts of movies like Transformers. That's the +10db in the soundtrack, because I run the sub at +/-0 db. Even playing music with a lot of bass at reference levels, the subs never red-line. It only happens with big LFE sequences in movies.
